The FIR, lodged on the direction of an additional district and sessions judge (ADSJ), accused them of terrorism relating to violence at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek sit-ins in Islamabad.

Former inspector general (IG) of the Islamabad Police Khalid Khattak, a former Islamabad Operation SSP, the Punjab and Railways IGs and Islamabad Chief Commissioner Mujhaid Sherdil had challenged the registration of the FIRs.
Acting on the orders of an ADSJ, the capital police registered FIRs against top police officials, Islamabad Chief Commissioner, prime minister, and the cabinet members on a petition filed by the PTI seeking criminal cases against them.
At least three people were killed during clashes between the police and protesters after the sit in participants tried to attempted to towards the PM House on August 30.
The IHC registrar on Wednesday raised objections, stating that the petitioners did not submit the required document with the petition. A court official informed that Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui will take up the matter on Thursday (today) as an objection case.
Earlier, Additional Attorney General Waqar Rana had requested on behalf of the cops and commissioner that the court to set aside the ADSJ order.
He had argued that under section 22-A of the Constitution of Pakistan, the judiciary and executive were separate pillars of the state and judicial officers could not pass orders against administrative actions.
The applicants pleaded that the police were deputed to protect state buildings and only resisted protesters when they tried to enter the buildings or started damaging them.
