Fire fight: Suspected suicide bomber, TTP commander killed in clash with FC

The clash took place in the Doaba area of Hangu

A suicide bomber and the man accused of murdering the Awami National Party’s district president was gunned down along with a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan commander in a clash with security forces in the Doaba area of Hangu on Tuesday evening.


A Frontier Corps official said Riaz, an alleged suicide bomber, was killed with a TTP commander from the group’s Kurram chapter, identified as Sharaib. The clash took place in the Jadid Bhanda area of Doaba.

Amirullah Khan, a police official in Doaba, said that security forces raided a house in the area based on intelligence. During the raid, a man wearing an explosives vest was spotted and an official opened fire, killing him on the spot. After more than 30 minutes of retaliatory fire with an accomplice of the bomber, security officials were able to clear the house.

A search operation was launched after the raid.
