LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday rejected a petition filed for recounting of votes in NA-118 Lahore, Express News reported.

A single-member bench of the high court rejected the plea, which was filed by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) MNA Muhammad Riaz Malik, saying that the court cannot interfere in election tribunal's matters.

In the petition, Malik had said that 211 bags of votes found for NA-118 constituency should be counted as well.

In the May 11 general elections last year, Malik had won the seat receiving 103,346 votes while runner-up Hamid Zaman from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf had received 43,616 votes.

@Jacob: Public support for what? Motorway and Metro? Do people tend to forget the fact that Nawaz came to power in 90s for the first time, he was seen in print media and PTV at a floody street during monsoon, walking in muddy waters trying to establish an image that he cared about public but look at the recent clips even after 25 years, same long boots and Mian braderaan in the streets full of flood, Did you get my point? I need to learn this skill; killing public and getting their support at the same time!!!!!
