PESHAWAR: Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa President Sikandar Hayat Khan Sherpao slammed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf-led provincial government for its “flawed economic policies”, saying it led to a sharp increase in the country’s debt.

Sherpao was speaking at a function in Watan Kor in Peshawar, where several activists from Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Awami National Party-Wali, including Shaukat Khan, Mir Khan, Gul Mast Khan, Zar Khan, Abdur Rahim, Munir Khan and Delawar Khan, announced they were joining the QWP.

He said people were burdened with debt and liabilities. “The government should tell the nation where the money was spent,” he asserted.

Sherpao added inflation and joblessness had increased due to the poor policies of the government. He said law and order was deteriorating and no investors were ready to put money into the provincial economy.

The QWP leader claimed the PTI had failed to honour its election pledges. “It has not improved the working of a single department,” he said.

He said PTI leaders claimed they would declare education and health emergencies after coming into power. “No change has come about. People are becoming disenchanted with the PTI government,” he maintained.
