Overloaded Vehicle: Student falls off school van and dies

SWABI: An eighth grade student of a private school in Swabi lost his life when he fell down from the top of a school van on Saturday morning. Iqrar Muhammad, a resident of Shera Ghund, Karanal Sher Kalay, told Kalu Khan police his nephew Hamza was a student of Al Badar Model School and College in the area. Muhammad said Hamza left for school on Saturday morning and sat on the top of the school van, adding when the van reached Shewa Adda area, Hamza slipped and fell down. He died on the spot. Police have lodged an FIR and started investigation. Residents of the area complained the school administration took more students on the van than the vehicle’s capacity. They said carelessness of the driver was also one of the reasons behind the incident.
