Punjab government to make arrangements for wheat crop

LAHORE:

Punjab's Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif said about 2.5 million tonnes of wheat is lying in stocks owing to last year's bumper wheat crop in the province.


He  said the government will make arrangements to stock this year's wheat yield in the province. He revealed that the government needs Rs 125 billion  for procurement of wheat to save framers from losses.


The chief minister also ensured that the government will take steps to stabilise wheat prices within 72 hours.
