Accountability : K-P govt approves provincial PAC

PAC’s main objectives included supervision and approval of provincial accounts and GDP

Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has approved the constitution of a 21-member Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Public Accounts Committee (PAC).


According to a handout issued on Friday, the PAC will be chaired by the K-P additional chief secretary whereas the provincial secretaries for planning and development, power and energy, agriculture, health, trade and commerce, among others, will be its members.


The statement read that the PAC’s main objectives included supervision and approval of provincial accounts, gross domestic product estimates, economic indicators and surveys.


The committee will also be responsible to determine the annual volume of the K-P economy and calculate its GDP.


Other tasks include the collection and publishing of statistics for the economic survey in coordination with other provinces.

It took them more than a year to constitute such a lousy committee of KPK Assembly?!! No wonder IK is of the opinion that they are rank novices in KPK Assembly and PTI's legislators don't even know how to flip open a file.
