Not only did the PML-N workers chant 'Go Imran Go' -- an altered version of the more popular 'Go Nawaz Go' slogan -- the large crowd even attempted to force their way into the hotel.
The PML-N supporters were seen writing Imran's name on the road and egging it. Later, PTI supporters gathered at the spot in a bid to disperse PML-N supporters.
The Awami Muslim League leader was scheduled to hold a press conference at the press club ahead of PTI's rally in the city tomorrow.
"I am not a coward. I will stay here," Express News quoted Sheikh Rasheed as saying after the incident. Police arrived shortly after the situation got out of hand. However, it is unclear whether attempts to calm the fired-up protesters have been successful.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is behind this incident,” said the AML leader, who is closely allied to PTI. He went on to add that the premier would be held responsible if anything happened to him.
“My war is with the prime minister, not the premier’s children,” Rasheed said.
“The media knows who they [the protesters] are, I do not have to name them. They are familiar faces,” Rasheed said, adding that the police also supported the protesters.
The Awami Muslim League leader also spoke about Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Imran Khan’s rally which is scheduled to be held in Multan tomorrow. “Tomorrow, Imran will hold the biggest rally.”
He said the public is sick and tired of the current system, adding that the chant ‘Go Nawaz Go’ has become a national chant.
Later, while speaking to Express News the AML chief added that PML-N workers stopped chanting at him, when workers of the AML and PTI intervened.
Additionally, PTI leader Tariq Naemullah was also harrassed by PML-N workers when he was crossing by the area in his vehicle. The charged up mob tried to stop his car and attack it. The police, however, were successful in keeping the PML-N workers away from the vehicle and allowing Naemullah to pass through.
Defending his supporters, a PML-N worker, Bilal Butt, said his workers have left the area and did not resort to violence.

This is what happens when you speak the truth about one's activities. If the courts are slow, limp, and justice is warped, the favorite political leaders expose the culprits, which are PMLN and PPP. GO NAWAZ GO! GO PPP GO! Salams
all i saw was four well fed fat people trying to jump around and get active....and then there were the onlookers and the paid help :) These fat blokes needed some exercise...
@sterry:The mandate of PMLN you are talking about is in querstion.Nawaz Shareef came to power through a rigged election.Sooner people like you accept it and pave way for mid term election, better it is for the country.
@Ali: Go Imran Go slogan is giving more energy to IK and PTI.IK is listening to these slogans and going to various parts of Pakistan addressing massive croud. These crowd are in return chanting slogans GO NAWAZ GO.
Nawaz Shareef cant face public and is hiding his face in Riawind palace,Tell your corrupt leader NS to come a face the public. He will hear only one slogan GO NAWAZ GO.
@Tony: Currently PMLN supporters are crying.PTI campaign Go Nawaz Go is reaching every corner of Pakistan.
@ZAFAR: Is PMLN and PPP been behaving in a civilized manners?.Imran Khan is far more civilized than those politicians who looted public maney and build their palaces here and abroad. Is this the civilized behavious of two corrupt parties that you are talking about.
GO NAWAZ GO is perfectly civilzed slogan against a person who came to power by a rigged election.See the recent commission report of Election held at NA 125.
Hypocracy at its best: When it is with Prime Minister, Chief Minister, Suleman Rafique, Hamza Shehbaz etc, Protest is a democratic right of People. But when it is with Imran Khan or Sh Rashhed, It is "bad muaashi". A wrong move started by PTI and adopted by PMLN. Both are wrong.
@Abdullah: sir please read about the offers made by PMLN and the Committees formed for dialogue. Every effort has been destroyed by egoist Imran Khan (who even swallowed his own resignation from NA) and is backed by people like Qadri and Sh Rasheed. It is good that these goons are now getting the taste of their own medicine!
@Abdullah: when we can say No Nawaz Go why we canot say Go Imran Go? it is also as democratic , so enjoy the tune
Sheikh Rasheed and PTI deserved every bit of it, what goes around comes around. Ro Imran Ro
Sheikh Rasheed promised qurbani before eid... now he's running around like a headless chicken to salvage what is left of IK's botched wedding plans. Sheikh Sb: leave people of PK alone, sorry your fasadi march was the box office mega flop of the year, and you should try your luck now as an umpire for the daily Kabaddi matches happening in PTI dharnas. It's time to accept the lost battle and retreat for another day.
What goes around, comes around. If PTI and PAT do not stop "go Nawaz go" then PML-N likewise has a democratic right to counter with "go Imran go" and "down with Qadri." The fear, however, is that direct confrontation could lead to not only mayhem but madness. Worse, it could become violent. Best, both should stop it or it might get ugly.
@Abdullah: Great news from PML N supporters. Majority of Pakistan's people voted in PMLN so why should our votes be disrespected? Are we lesser citizens because we support Nawaz Sharif who we believe will end the energy crisis, build motorways and turn the economy around? I am sick of PTI sore losers who talk about Naya Pakistan with old ideas and old leaders like Shaikh Rasheed and Chaudhry Shujaat. I hope everyone in Pakistan starts to give Imran Khan and PTI a taste of their own medicine. I prefer the chant Ro Imran Ro because it suits his sore loser mentality better. He can't accept majority of voters opinion so he is crying over the elections instead of working in KPK and making the country better as a good opposition leader. Ro Imran Ro !
@QB: Who are you kidding by denying that the Go Nawaz Go sloganeering is an organized campaign? PTI workers are tailing PML-N leaders and showing up at PML-N events to create a scene. The whole idea is to create an illusion of widespread public dissatisfaction.
So it is quite easy to disgrace political leaders , IK should know and advised his worker not to disgrace other party leaders ,IK should behave like civilized person rather than playing tactic of old dirty politics in which other parties are PhD as toady incidence !
GO NAWAZ GO must be very much pricking rather killing Nawaz to be honest otherwise his supporters had not shouted against Sheikh Rashid. Isn't it a naked and blatant admission on part of PM Nawaz that GO NAWAZ GO is not a plus but a minus for him in particular and his junta namely Saad + Pervaiz + Nisar + Ahsan + Baloch + Khawaja + Shahbaz + Hamza + Kalsoom + Maryam etc in general if realized? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi
Noon League has no SHAME !!!! What a pathetic move.
So, who used to chant "Go Zardari Go" and "Go Musharraf Go?" And who had sent the goons to assault Chief Justice Sajjad Ali Shah while he was in session at the Supreme Court? All the Gullu Butts in Pakistan are not enough to effectively counter popular demands. Nawaz should hold early elections in a clear and transparent manner and if he wins he will have a legitimate claim to govern.
Orchestrated. Filled with hate. Supporting a corrupt government that rigged elections.
Haha! Poor N-league supporters. They can't even bring new ideas. Total Moral and Mental bankruptcy. No wonder Nawaz Shareef is their leader.
There is no harm in it but the point is that they are doing it in retaliation to answer go nawaz go slogan and nothing else.
So the original slogan remains
GO NAWAZ GO
Please report correctly. PMLN did not take it out from PTI playbook. The Go Nawaz Go slogan is not an organized campaign. People are doing it voluntarily. On the other hand attacking the opponents and physically threatening them is the way PMLN works. It's not a spontaneous reaction of public, rather the standard operating procedure of PMLN.
So this is the part of what leaders of PML N said that they would also reply. Still no flexibility from PML N.
