Addressing party workers via telephone, the MQM chief said that they were waiting for orders. The day they received the orders, they would don their shrouds and enter the battlefield.
MQM members should not give in to their egos
Criticising some party workers for becoming too self engrossed, Hussain advised MQM office-bearers to treat their fellow workers kindly and sympathetically and try to help them in every manner.
The MQM supremo said office-bearers and workers should not become overbearing while dealing with the public. Instead, the public should be approached with humility, he added.
Public canvassing campaign after Eid in Punjab
The MQM chief said that he knew conspiracies were afoot to divide and weaken the party but was certain they would not succeed.
Hussain asked the workers and office-bearers of MQM Upper Punjab Zone to launch a canvassing campaign to strengthen the party in Punjab and spread the party message.

@Uza Syed: thanks, great to see you back on ET!
@Aysha M: Excellent! Hopefully, this gave enough reason to both the ordinary citizens as well as those who consider politics a tool for their hold on power and means to self-enrichment. One the best and most educational piece of political commentary here. Congratulations.
We dont want to see Punjab become Karachi, please stay where you are.
'Criticising some party workers for becoming too self engrossed, ...' That's grand, coming from the guy notorious for self-referral in the third person.
Rich or poor, one thing that nobody can afford to do is to stop thinking. Punjab needs to think long and hard, not only for itself but for the whole of Pakistan, because its Punjab and what Punjab thinks, matters the most. The people of Punjab need to think if they would continue voting for those who perpetuate appalling inequity and cheat ordinary people out of educational and economic opportunities and manipulate participation in governance or they would cultivate leadership from among themselves.
Local Body administration is the third tier of governance, which is the bedrock of the governance structure, where power and authority is devolved to the grassroot level and hopefully to those who are in contact with people and sincere in solving their day to day issues. People of Punjab will have to think if they want to vote for people who visit their constituency once in 5 years or their next door neighbour, who breathes in the same air as them and shares the same civic life.
Only awam can protect and safeguard interests of awam, not those who live in banigalas, raiwinds and houses of sorts. These people have not lived lives of an ordinary Pakistanis. They operate on the principle of divide and devour. They are completely disinterested or clueless or both about Pakistan and Pakistanis. In the past 3 decades Pakistan has gone poorer meanwhile these so called leaders have amassed phenomenal wealth.
The people of Punjab can make it the end of the journey to end dynastic politics, to end oligarchy. Local Body election is where it can all begin to end. Punjab, think long and hard.
These guys along with PPP have caused enough damage to Karachi. Please stay away from Punjab and KPK.
