Nine killed, 33 injured as Pakistan, India trade fire across border
Four civilians were killed while three others sustained injuries when Indian Border Security Force (BSF) opened fire near the Sialkot working boundary, ISPR said in a statement.
The dead included Salima Bibi, 10-year-old Adeel Ahmed, four-year-old Hamad Ahmed from Dhamala village and 65-year-old Abdul Razzak from Tulsipur village.
The latest violation of ceasefire also injured 70-year-old Mohammad Ishaq from Tulsipur village, 72-year-old Mohammad Rashim from Dhamala village and 10-year-old Kashif from Harpal village.
ISPR also said there was firing from Indian side in Nakial, Karela, Kot Kettera, Hot Spring and Jandrot sectors. No casualty was reported in these areas.
According to ISPR, Pakistan Rangers effectively responded to ‘unprovoked firing’ by BSF.
Meanwhile, unprovoked Indian firing in Charwa sector on late Monday destroyed 10 houses, while attacks in Harpal sector killed 13 domestic animals.
While in India, police told AFP that Pakistan Rangers fired mortar shells at villages and border posts in Indian Kashmir, killing five villagers and injuring at least 30 more.
Casualties in Indian Kashmir occurred when shells landed near a bus stand and houses in the Arnia sector of the southern Jammu region, police director general K Rajendra told AFP.
"The firing started (Sunday) night. It's continuing intermittently," Rajendra told AFP.
Pakistan condemns Indian aggression
Pakistan has strongly condemned unprovoked firing by Indian security forces, violating the ceasefire at the working boundary at Charwah sector on Monday, Radio Pakistan reported.
Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam in a statement said the firing started at midnight and continued until morning.
“The Indian violation, in complete disregard of the sacred occasion of Eidul Azha, caused martyrdom of four innocent citizens, and injured three others,” added the spokesperson.
Aslam said government had also lodged a strong protest with India, calling for restraint from constant violation of the ceasefire.

I see both sides blame each other for unprovoked firing resorting bombshelling. I do find it always Pak side blames India for odd and so is India does. What is real truth? I believe in peace and want both countries, must treat each other as neighbour. As Modiji has said, we can change friend but not neighbour.It is true. But sure Pak never treats its Hindu nationals as real citizen. Why Pak does not accept secularism like India? India has treated its Muslims as very part of its soil and regards them unlike Pak does to Hindus. Look how Muslims in Hindu dominated places of India are safe. Even the community has no fear even in my home place where very meager population from this community lives for ages.That does not occur in Pak because it sees people in communal glass.

Its clear. Pakistan Army is successfully eradicating Indian sponsored TTP in FATA in operation Zarb-e-Azb. They are being defeated there. Thats why Indians wants to distract Pakistan Army to move its troops to the eastern borders so they can infilterate Indian trained TTP terrorists into Pakistan from Afghanistan. @ mohan. As per Indian media 5 people died on Indian side while 27 injured. In pak 4 died (names are mentioned in the report )and 4-5 injured..
We know which country wants to rake up the Kashmir issue and make it stay on the headlines. It is not in India's interest to begin unprovoked firing. Go figure.

We can have differences over our point of view but I am sure we don’t want shedding of innocent blood because of that. If I have that much control over actions on my side of border, believe me not a single non combatant, unarmed civilian would die because of bullet fired by Indian army. You can say that’s wishful thinking but at least that shows my intent. The reason I am writing on Pakistani websites is to tell my Pakistani friends that there are sane, friendly voices across the border to reciprocate to their sensible gestures for peace and harmony, to assure them that they are not alone. Where are UN observers in Kashmir. It is high time that there be a plebiscite under UN mandate , and let the people decide which side do they want to live. With these provocations on LOC India is trying to create an ill against Pakistan showing that we started the firing and we don't like the people of J&K. But, inside there hearts the Indians know the out come that they will lose J&K if there will be a Plebiscite.
It is deliberate attempt by Pakistan (army & gov. together this time) to tarnish India’s image internationally. Pakistan is always jealous of India, esp. in the recent past when Xi refused to go to Pakistan due to security issue and visited India and offered 20bn investment. Pakistan always claims that their relation with China is sweeter than honey. But that sweetness is slowly fading away. This jealous is doubled after Modi's successful visit in US and the reception he received there. Pakistani establishments think that US undermined Nawas and given very high priority to Modi (including the US media). Now Pakistan wants to tarnish India's image by carrying out cross firing at LOC, and try one more attempt to internationalise ‘Kashmir’. But Pakistan will fail miserably. Because no country in the world would trust them.

I am sick of such news. Why Nawaz Govt. is bend on improving ties with a country who keeps on firing our civilians. These arrogant Indians will never.
