Experts working hard with Ajmal: PCB

Saqlain’s presence quite beneficial for the off-spinner, says offical

News Desk October 05, 2014

KARACHI: Pakistan hope to have lead spinner Saeed Ajmal ready for the 2015 World Cup as a team of experts are working hard on ensuring that the stalwart is able to play for the national team in the showpiece event, according to ESPNcricinfo.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has hired former off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq to help Ajmal remodel his bowling action in accordance with the International Cricket Council’s new protocol for bowlers.

PCB senior general manager of medical and sports science, Dr Sohail Saleem is confident that the efforts would lead to positive results.

“There is definite improvement in Ajmal’s bowling action as the team of experts led by Mushtaq are working in two sessions with him every day," said Saleem.

"Saqlain's presence and advice has helped Ajmal a lot and the target is to make him ready for a bowling action test before the World Cup."

I think the new ICC law is ruining original cricket players badly, micro managing players like narine and ajmal action is doubtful.

The problem is to demoralize the strenghts/records of Ajmal by forcing him to change his bowling action. I fear that ajmal might not able to give his best in bowling during Worldcup 2015.
