LAHORE: Inspector General (IGP) Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said on Friday police were an important institution of the state and that no one would be allowed to challenge the force’s writ. The IGP was addressing a Regional Police Officers’ (RPO) conference at the Central Police Office. He said the morale of the force would be protected at all costs as officers were ready to confront future challenges. The conference approved a security plan for Eidul Azha. It decided to cancel holidays of all the operational staff. Police officers were directed to intensify patrolling and set up additional pickets to control crime, particularly the cattle theft.
