All opposition parties will unanimously submit a no-confidence motion against Chief Minister Pervez Khattak in the next session of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly.
This was said by Quami Watan Party’s (QWP) newly-elected provincial chairman and parliamentary leader Sikandar Sherpao at Peshawar Press Club on Thursday. Sherpao was flanked by several newly-elected office bearers of the party.
Busy in Islamabad
Sherpao said Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has failed to deliver in the province, “Government officials are busy in Islamabad sit-ins, leaving K-P to the mercy of target killers and extortionists.” He added PTI MNAs are participating in standing committee sessions even though PTI Chairman Imran Khan has demanded resignations from them.
PTI promised to conduct local government polls within 90 days but more than 400 days have passed and no tangible progress has been made in this regard, said Sherpao.
Economic failure
He said due to the policies of the PTI-led coalition government, the province went downhill during the 2013-14 fiscal year. Instead of creating employment opportunities, they have increased the tax burden, alleged Sherpao.
IDPs, he maintained, have been ignored completely and the provincial government is doing little to facilitate them. He also criticized the federal government for prolonged power outages and overbilling in K-P.
