K-P, FATA: In the grip of violence

Seven bodies found and four shot dead across the region.

In a day of bloodshed, at least seven bodies were found from the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Fata) while two police officials, two women and one student were killed in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday. These incidents were reported in addition to a blast on a passenger coach in Bazid Khel, Peshawar which killed at least seven.


Targeted

In Swat district, the decapitated body of a policeman was found at his house in Madyan. According to Madyan police station, Muhibullah, a special force policeman, was found beheaded at his house on Thursday. He had been missing for six days, they added.

An ASI of Peshawar police, Asifur Rehman, was shot dead in the jurisdiction Yakatot police station, Peshawar on Thursday.

According to the police, Asif was taking his children to school when unidentified assailants opened fire at him. He died on the spot while the assailants managed to escape.

After the incident, a search was initiated in the area. One of the suspected assailants was arrested.

Jehan Ara and her 22-year-old daughter Neelam were killed when unidentified assailants opened fire at a taxi they were travelling in near Regi police station. Both women died on the spot. A FIR has been lodged and investigation is under way.

In another tragic incident, a college student was gunned down by unidentified persons in Pabbi Bazaar of Nowshera district on Thursday. The deceased has been identified as Mawai.

According to a report filed with the Pabbi police, unidentified assailants opened fire at him. He was severely injured and rushed to a nearby hospital. Mawai was then shifted to Lady Reading Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Further investigation into the incident is under way.

Bodies found                     

The decapitated body of a government employee was found in Ghallanai, Mohmand Agency on Thursday morning. According to a political administration official, Amjad Ali was ambushed and later killed by unidentified militants near his house.

Two bodies which bore torture marks were found on the confluence of Peshawar district and Jamrud tehsil of Khyber Agency on Thursday. Irshad Mohmand, an official of the political administration from Jamrud, said the bodies were discovered in Jumma Khan Khwar by two residents.

In Tirah, two bullet-riddled bodies were found on Thursday morning. According to a khasadar, the bodies were found near a stream. Unidentified assailants had allegedly gunned down both the men, he added.

In South Waziristan, two bodies were found in Baghar in Wana. They have been identified as Faqir and Akbar. Both men had been abducted from Wana Bazaar in 2012.
