#ThrowbackThursday: Mehreen Jabbar recalls shooting for Dhoop Mein Sawan
Jabbar served as producer and director of the show, which had a stellar cast, including industry stalwarts
Director Mehreen Jabbar took to Facebook to give her fans a blast from the past, as she shared this vintage picture of the cast of her first mini-series, Dhoop Mein Sawan. Jabbar served as producer and director of the show, which had a stellar cast, including industry stalwarts Shakeel and Samina Ahmed and talented actors, such as Humayun Saeed, Yasir Nawaz, Nadia Jamil, Huma Nawab and Salma Hasan.
Almost all of them have remained active on the Pakistani media front, with Saeed having recently ventured into film production with the 2013 release of Mein Hoon Shahid Afridi. Nawaz has successfully ventured into TV drama production and direction with works, such as Uraan, Nadaaniyan and the tele-film Arjuman.
Jamil continues to make infrrequent appearances in drama serials, with her last notable performance in the mini-drama Behadd starring Fawad Khan. She recently performed a theatre play titled Lorelei in Lahore along with veteran actor Sania Saeed. Hasan also returned to television and appeared in the sequel of the classic Tanhaiyan, titled Tanhaiyan Naye Silsilay.
Jabbar, on the other hand, has continued to direct and produce drama serials with her latest production, Jackson Heights, currently airing on television. She even made her feature film debut with the 2008 release Ramchand Pakistani, which won critical acclaim, but did not make a major impact at the box office.
