Deadly cargo: Police seize arms from vehicle near Lodhran

MULTAN:

Police seized a large amount of weapons and ammunition on Tuesday from a vehicle near Lodhran.

DPO Gohar Mushtaq said they had received a tip-off about a major arms deal taking place in the area.

“A police team motioned a vehicle to stop at a picket near Lodhran city. However, the vehicle sped away. The team then chased and stopped it. There was an exchange of gunfire with the people in the vehicle, who later surrendered to police,” Mushtaq said.

“When the police team searched the vehicle, they found 11,000 bullets, five MP5 submachine guns, six Kalashnikov rifles, 16 pistols and 10 magazines. Police arrested the four people in the vehicle,” he said.
