LAHORE: Justice Ayesha Malik of Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday issued notices to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and National Assembly Member (MNA) Asfandyar Bhandara on a plea seeking his disqualification. Pakistan Tehreek-i-Inqilab had moved the petition through AK Dogar stating that the MNA had concealed facts while filing his nomination papers. Dogar said the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had filed a reference against the MNA. The lawyer requested the court to disqualify Bhandara as an MNA under Articles 62 and 63 of the Constitution. A law officer told the court that neither the ECP nor the MNA had responded to the court’s notices.  The judge issued the notices and adjourned the hearing until October 27.
