Livestock health: 9 new veterinary hospitals to be set up

The spokesman said that the hospitals would be completed within four years.

The Livestock Department has decided to establish model veterinary hospitals at tehsil level in all nine divisions of the province. A spokesman said on Tuesday that the project digest (PC-1) for the hospitals had been prepared and sent for approval.


“Rs491 million will be spent on the establishment of the hospitals at Jaranwala in Faisalabad district; Kahna Nau in Lahore district, Wazirabad in Gujranwala district, Taxila in Rawalpindi district, Chicha Watni in Sahiwal district, Khanpur in Bahawalpur district, Kot Addu in Dera Ghazi Khan district and in Sargodha and Multan,” he said.

The spokesman said that the hospitals would be completed within four years. “The Livestock and Dairy Development Department will provide the funds for the project. The additional principal veterinary officer will be responsible for their operation, repair and renovation,” the spokesman said. “The model veterinary hospitals will have the latest diagnostic systems for treating animals. They will also provide breeding facilities according to the international standards,” the spokesman added.
