KARACHI:

Public prosecutors in Karachi on Saturday refused to follow cases against members of banned organisations arrested in various criminal cases, citing threats to their lives.

A petition, stating the lawyers' stance, has been filed in the Anti Terrorism Court (ATC) in this regard.

Prosecutors said the police is not providing them with the required security adding that they are being threatened by groups for taking up the cases.

The court summoned the home secretary of Sindh and the prosecutor general in the next hearing to resolve the issue.
