Illegal entry: 25 Indian fisherman detained

KARACHI: Officials at the Pakistan Maritime Security Agency (MSA) intercepted four Indian boats that strayed into Pakistani territory and detained over two dozen fishermen on Monday. The fishing boats were also confiscated. According to MSA officials, the fishermen had entered Pakistan’s territorial waters and were busy fishing when MSA workers arrested them. After their arrest, the fishermen were shifted to Docks police station for legal formalities. Docks SHO Sajjad Mangi said that cases against the 25 Indian fishermen have been registered under foreigner and fisheries acts, adding that they would be presented before the judicial magistrate for remand on Tuesday (today).
