Bad host: Man accused of raping guest

BAHAWALPUR:

Bahawalpur police on Monday registered a case against a man on the complaint of a woman who accused him of raping her sister. A police spokesman said Meher Bibi*, a resident of Gujranwala, had reported that she came to Rukanpur on Friday with her 30-year-old widowed sister Masooda Bibi for homeopathic treatment. She said Muhammad Fayyaz, a relative, offered to house them during their stay.  She said on Saturday night, Fayyaz invited some friends at his house. She said they consumed liquor and later attacked her sister in her room while she was asleep. Talking to newsmen, Fayyaz rubbished Masooda’s claim, saying she had asked him for Rs10,000 for Eid shopping on her arrival. He said when he refused, she concocted the story to get revenge.  The police spokesman police had registered and action would be taken after the victim’s medical report was out.
