Col Mehmood informed the committee that land grabbing and street crime do not fall under the jurisdiction of Rangers, however, they have submitted a summary to the premier on how these crimes can be controlled.
Speaking about targets achieved in Lyari, the Rangers official said incidents of kidnapping and extortion have reduced by 55% since the beginning of the operation. Col Mehmood said the law and order situation improved in the neighbourhood as Rangers have set up pickets in the area.
Briefing the committee about what transpired on the night of September 24 when Rangers personnel arrested MQM members, Col Mehmood said the security officials went inside party office after their patrol was fired at in Gulshan-e-Maymar. This is fact that the lawlessness in Karachi seems to be getting worse since 80
s, but this is also fact the legacy of operations is Karachi is also from the same period. The question is how long will the LEA
s take more to make the city peaceful? Regarding their claims "the situation is Karachi is getting better" is concerned, Karachi-ites do not feel like believing it anymore. Hundreds of accused have been suspiciously killed in encounters by them since 1992 calling them terrorists. If they were the real culprits behind the lawlessness, then why dont we have peace now? The shedding of the people is posing a big question mark on the performance of the LEA
s.Yes , there is an urgent need to carry out all possible efforts in the region so that the political wing of terrorists organization could not create hatered for those who are cooperating in this war among the masses . But they are active to realize it .
It was recently reported that the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), in a bid to extend its influence in the South Asian region, distributed pamphlets in Peshawar and border provinces of Afghanistan as well. On the other hand, terrorist organizations like the TTP and the Haqqani network have long been working against our shared peace objectives in the region. The regular attacks at all levels clearly prove that they are willing to cross all lines to destabilize the region. Our nations have made a lot of sacrifices in countering the common threat of terrorism, and we greatly appreciate all of Pakistan’s sacrifices in our shared fight against terrorism. Our nations continue to work closely in regard to our shared peace objectives, and contrary to all conspiracy theories, we hope to see peace restored throughout the region, especially Pakistan.

@shahid: That wasn't a repair job. It was brand new. They only spoke about repairs,, not brand new ones. Lol!
What readers need to consider is the base presence of MQM, ANP and TTP. If ANP has a smaller presence than MQM in the city, the statistics make sense because there are fewer ANP militias to arrest to begin with. Looking at the histogram of action against the 3 parties without considering the original number of such parties does not give an accurate picture.
What the infographic should have shown was the action conducted against the overall estimated presence of all three outfits.
Please name the political parties, to which, criminals belonged to, so that the people of Karachi should know who is behind this lawlessness and killings. MQM which always sheds crocodile tears, on being targeted by law enforcing agencies, can no longer hide behind curtains and it is really shame that a party, which claims to be owner of Karachi, is itself behind creating a regin of terror. Congratulations to new Master Chief of Rangers, who has shown courage to make the public know the real faces behind this lawlessness in Karachi.
“destroyed beyond repair” Farooq Awan must have mumbled a 'gem' in Punjabi upon reading this!!!
according to Ranger report....18 raids were carried out on offices of the ANP in which 40 people were arrested and 21 weapons were recovered, he said. What a joke only 21 weapons from ANP office.?...every body know in Pakistan who are involved in gun running, land grabbing..373 raids were carried out on MQM offices in which 560 MQM workers were arrested and a large cache of weapons was recovered....this shows how the operation is being conducted targeting only one community
OMG ! , last week TTP was trying to hijack Pak Navy Frigate to bomb US carrier, Now TTP is destroyed how?
@Tabish Ahmed:
As if you or I don't know MQM na??
Rangers Saheb...that is what you think. Attack by them on Police officer few days ago should open your eyes. There are many no go areas like Sohrab Ghot where even rangers think twice to venture...why not arrest MQM ( Afaq group ) guys, they are the silent killers & gets away without any trace...
"Although there are least number of weapons found at MQM areas". It apears those weapons are used very effectively though. Many wrongs do not make a right and all political parties need to be de weaponized to have any peace in this mega city
I am very surprised that they conducted so few raids in ANP areas, it doesnt really make sense there are still so many No Go Areas in Karachi domanated by ANP Area's its not even funny. Aghan Colony Banaras, Mangopir and the list goes on.
I believe the Rangers are doing a Great Job, only if the police could step up and make the streets better instead of extorting money from normal civilains and letting the muggers and snatchers ride around freely. (I speak of this from personal experience)
Clear injustice. Minimum raids on ANP offices 'coz they are located in Sohrab Goath, Banaras, Magopir etc, where police and rangers writ does not exist. Further Although there are least number of weapons found at MQM areas, still extensive raids are being conducted in those areas to harass individuals. This might not make it to "Hall of Fame" but will sure make it to "Hall of Shame".
Then what happened in dha last week?
"destroyed beyond repair"....... is it comic or ironic on Rangers' part to give this statement?
