Nisar, Shahbaz, Imran yet to submit asset details: ECP

As the deadline for submission of asset details nears, Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Monday said that only 305 out of 1,174 lawmakers have submitted their details yet, Express News reported.

Chief ministers of Punjab, Sindh and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa are among those who have not submitted their asset details so far.

Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan have also not submitted their asset details to the poll body.

On September 26, ECP had said that it has received the asset details of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

On July 9, the poll body had issued a notification, asking all lawmakers to submit details of their assets by September 30.

ECP had said that if lawmakers fail to submit the details, their membership from the relevant assembly would be suspended.

Regardless of whether IK is still a member of the Parliament or not, as a public figure, Pakistanis would like to know how he affords his lavish style of living? NS with all his faults has already given details of his assets. Now let the ECP scrutinize and let the people know.

Along with SS, Nisar, Imran has not submitted details of his assets, as per ECP. Now, how is Imran better than any other politician? He shows us greener pastures and makes tall promises, such as, he would live like the early Caliphs of Islam and adopt their ways of parsimony and frugality, yet his electric bill, divided into three meters, is approximately a hundred thousand rupees per month. Is that simplicity? He jets around frequently. Is that self-denial? And, where does PTI get all the funds for spending on sit-ins and for paying to D.J. Butts? The dharnis are enjoying without question where the funds come from?
