A man died on Sunday at a hospital two days after setting himself ablaze after quarreling with his parents in Chak 138-GB.
According to Samundri police, 24-year-old Muhammad Iftikhar, a resident of Chak 138-GB Risiyana Khurd, had been having frequent arguments with his parents.
On Friday, they reprimanded him again. He then poured kerosene oil on his clothes and set himself ablaze. He was taken to Samundri tehsil headquarters (THQ) hospital.
On Sunday, doctors pronounced him dead.
Police have handed the body to the deceased’s family.
Separately, Razia*, a resident of Elahiabad; Saira*, a resident of Gulshan-i-Iqbal; Arifa*, a resident of Abdullahpur; Nabilla*, a resident of Chak 239-RB; Akbar, a resident of Nazeer Colony; Aurangzeb*, a resident of Rasul Park; Hamid*, a resident of Sharifpura, and Amjad*, a resident of Madanpura, attempted to commit suicide by swallowing poison pills.
All of them have been hospitalised.
