McAdams is in line to play Ani Bezzerides, a professional sheriff who likes to imbibe and gamble while off-duty, reported deadline.com. HBO has already released the official logline for the second season of the show, which reads, “Three police officers and a career criminal must navigate a web of conspiracy in the aftermath of a murder.”
HBO had already announced that Justin Lin, the man behind the last four instalments of The Fast and the Furious franchise, will fill the director’s chair for the first two episodes of True Detective season two. Academy Award-winning director William Friedkin is also being lined up as director of the show, reported avclub.com.
Rumour has it that model-turned-actor Taylor Kitsch may also be bagging a major role on the crime drama. So far, the only mystery regarding the show, which seems to have been resolved, is the casting of actors Colin Farrell and Vince Vaughn as the male leads. The first season of the show received widespread critical acclaim, bagging the show multiple nominations for both the cast and the crew at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards.
