Producer of the record-breaking film ‘Waar’, Hassan Waqas Rana, is wanted by police in a case filed against him by the director of the film, Bilal Lashari.
Through his counsels, Haq Nawaz Baloch and Rab Nawaz Baloch, Lashari lodged a criminal case under section 406 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC) at the Kohsar Police Station on June 21, accusing Rana of depriving him of 25 per cent of the film’s profit — against the terms of an agreement between the two.
However, Rana secured pre-arrest bail from the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADSJ) Sikandar Khan on June 23.
On September 25, ADSJ Raja Khurram Ali Khan dismissed the bail and ordered the arrest of the suspect who has, since then, gone into hiding while the police are still looking for him.
Moreover, during the course of proceedings, Rana presented a medical certificate which upon verification proved to be forged and a second case has been registered against him in Margalla police station under sections 420, 468 and 471 of the PPC. Rana managed to get a pre-arrest bail in this case also.
The next hearing of the case will be held on September 29.
In the initial FIR filed with the Kohsar police, Lashari stated that he was also a partner in the film but Rana deposited over Rs150 million in his own account, refusing to share any part of the earnings with the director.
Investigation Officer Mansha Hussain confirmed that Rana is wanted by the police.

I'd rather have him arrested for that screenplay.
He better use pressure tactics or he isn't getting anything from this system!!!
Being a lawyer myself I can clearly see what's going on. S 406 takes place when one person has given something tangible to another who has misused it. What tangible thing did bilal give him which he has misused?? Bilal is putting pressure on the producer to extort some money from him and this is exactly the section which is invoked for pressure tactics. Otherwise this is a contractual matter in which a civil suit for recovery or performance of contract needs to be filed.
Pre-arrest bail, stay order and benefit of the doubt are three of the most common legal covers wrongfully used by the looters in Pakistan. I hope Lashari gets his fair share for his work.
@Asad Shaikh: You don't know the facts of this case, let them come out
Mr.Bilal you should not work for this country as a matter if fact people here are cheats frauds and its the worst of people who reside here so the point this producer of yours who took away your money is probably hiding in some other country by now.
I have seen the movie. Well it paints India in negative picture, but otherwise this director had infused some life in Pak film industry and I really appreciate that. The sad thing is that talented people have to fight for their rightful share. This way talent can never be nurtured. This would close down all the industry.
Everybody is corrupt in this country. Made my blood boil reading through this. I hope against all hope Bilal Lashari wins this case. Otherwise mate you dont deserve to work for this country your services will be more useful in a country where hard work is rewarded and justice is done.
oho, well that's not Good
