A roadside checkpoint was bombed by unidentified militants in Loy Mamond, Bajaur Agency on Saturday.
An official of the political administration confirmed the incident saying a bomb planted near an FC checkpoint went off at around 11:30am, however, no loss of life was reported since the post was empty at the time.
Talking to the media from an unknown location, TTP spokesperson Shahidullah Shahid claimed responsibility of the attack. Another attack of a similar nature occurred on Friday when an improvised explosive device targeted the vehicle of pro-government peace committee members in lower Mohmand Agency.
In a statement issued later in the day, TTP’s breakaway group Jamaatul Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack.
