In its reply to the Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat, the flag carrier's administration said that the plane incurred a 25-minute delay at Jinnah International Airport in Karachi due to the late acceptance of two parliamentarians — MNA Ramesh Kumar and Senator Rehman Malik.
Meanwhile, the head of the investigation team, Brigadier Usman Chaudhary, informed the Standing Committee that the two lawmakers were in coordination with two individuals at the airport, who further delayed the flights.
Moreover, the flight also faced a delay of 15 minutes due to the SOP’s violation of not releasing the aircraft within the stipulated departure time.
Both parliamentarians have denied their role in delaying the flight.

Travelling since 2000, and has registered as frequent flyer on most of GCC airlines. But never travelled on PIA and will not in future. No respect/No Service....
This is a shame.
This VVIP Culture curse must end
PIA is a complete failure. As for the two parliamentarians, they should be tied to the wingtips next time they board an aircraft. Salams
Rule #1 of democracy- Lie, If you get caught, explain it with lie, continue these steps until person gives up. Consequence severely if you tell the truth.
@Sodomite: Pakistan's "political elite" are also the reason behind Pakistan's failure.
The best reaction by future passengers should be following. Do not fly by PIA. Period. Let these big peoples use this airline. Common passengers should find and travel by other airlines.
waiting for the white paper over this issue by the govt of pakistan..@go nawaz go
Confirmation of something that just about everybody knew.....and now what ?
Rehman Malik had said that if proven that the delay was caused by him he will leave politics. Another Showbaz Sharif in the making.....
Pakistan's elite are the cause of PIA's failure. Get rid of the elite (Naya Gullu Butt needed) and PIA will start operating profitable.
This was a new tax added by the govt however it should have been applicable to the people who purchased their ticket after the tax was imposed not to the ones who bought the ticket prior@Kam:
Whenever i travelled with PIA every time there had been an incidence causing long delays and inconvenience. So now i use other airlines whenever i visit Pakistan. But you can change the airline but how can you change the airport run by the same system? From porters to caa staff acting as touts asking money for small favours. This time all of a sudden without any prior warning asked for thousands of rupees of 'airport tax' even though my tickets says that all taxes are paid. But had to pay this 'bhatta' to board the plane.
@GS@Y:That's because they are and only a person being paid off by them would say aren't.
They complied 62 and 63 article of constitution ...... hahahaha
Shameless faces. A mere apology is not enough. PIA and two shameless parliamentarians needs to be find for wasting time of hundreds of passengers and they both should compensate passengers.
The PM lies. The interior minister lies. MNAs lie. Senators lie. Then they all defend democracy.
now what Senator and MNA saabs? just say its a lie, like ur PM did few weeks back
These two should be put behind bars for lying infront of the nation
azadi #whitelies #hypocrisy #vipcultureHaha so the cat is officially out of the bag. No surprise though, everyone knew it was the parliamentarians who delayed the flight. PIA = their daddy ki airline
While we must not tolerate any kind of VIP culture, I am still skeptical of this entire episode and the inquiry into it. There's way too much of a systematic effort going on to heap scorn on the political class and dismiss them en masse as corrupt and self-serving.
I dont fly with PIA due to many reasons and one of that one is vip culture
