Altaf Hussain questions army chief over workers' arrests
Altaf said that Rangers arrested many MQM workers in Karachi, of which 41 are still missing. Altaf questioned why these workers have been arrested and alleged that they were taken into custody because they are Urdu-speaking.
Earlier today, Express News reported that eight MQM party workers, arrested during a raid by Rangers in Karachi, were released, while three others were presented in a court.
On the evening of September 24, Rangers had raided an MQM office on Abul Hassan Ispahani road and detained dozens of workers who were discussing reorganisation of the party. However, Rangers’ spokesperson said the office was raided only after security officers were fired at from the building.
Following the arrests, MQM staged sit-ins at more than 10 locations in the city but the demonstrations were called off after a few of the arrested workers were released last night.
MQM workers, Kashif, Zakariyah and Shahnawaz, were taken to court this morning following which they were placed in the custody of Rangers for 90 days.

@mrs ahmed: It is our job to change the system rather than complain continuously, we should work hard enough that there should be no need to be a part of any quota system. These are all excuses!
Rangers have arrested more than 1000 criminals and no one chanted such slogans. But when it comes to the arrests of one party officials then they start dragging ethnic card as the last resort. No one is an Angel in this world. How come the membership of one party can assure the discharge from all offenses?. Everybody know that all parties in Karachi are violent and obviously all violent parties in Karachi have illegal weapons as well. They should not expect bed of roses from the security agencies.

Dear Mrs Ahmed My dad migrated from India (and was in the armed forces). Never have I felt like a "mohajir" or has anyone imposed this on us. We are Pakistanis and proud of it. I do agree all jobs should be on the basis of merit (there should be no discrimination on basis of sex, religion or race). I also agree there should be many more administrative provinces in Pakistan to ensure funds get to the grass roots level. But please get over this chip on your shoulder and fight for the equality of all.

I read here some comments, I am living in Karachi, we knew how law enforcement agencies' attitudes with the people of Karachi, specifically those who're belongs to MQM. They face dispise attitude from law enforcement agencies personnel. They blather about the MQM, and distorted MQM's immage. Owing to this attitude, we sure that, they digging their graves themselves. Altaf Hussain have right to ask the questions anyone. This is serious issues, this is not only Altaf Hussain's questions, these questions from everyone, those who facing berating attitude of biased LEA.

Why dont this man come to Pakistan and protest against Rangers? Enough of drama, they will always try and remain on treasury benches (in any govt). How can AH protest against his own govt? Either keep sticking to treasury benches or announce to quit. But I know they wont, never! How do they earn money then? and send money to London for AH's comfort lifestyle. Bunch of hypocrites.

AH you are not Punjabi so you are not allowed to do political activities within 4 wall...only Punjabis have the privileged to do ,Islamabad protesters can ransacked PTV ,can attacked parliament and S.C and, holding Islamabad city as a hostage and thrashing police officers and giving threatening civil servant openly...but no action
Due to the immature ethnic and violent nature of MQM, it can never go beyond one city.
