The Supreme Court has rejected the bail application of former IG police of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Malik Naveed Khan, in a case linked to the arms purchase scam.
The three judge bench of the apex court, headed by Mian Saqib Nisar on Wednesday heard the bail application, filed by former top cop of the K-P.
During the hearing Additional Prosecutor General NAB Abar Tarar appeared before the bench and strongly opposed grant of bail to the accused. He also informed about all the facts related to the involvement of the accused in this scam.
Tarar stated that Naveed made Rs360 million in an arms purchase deal worth Rs6 billion with a Chinese firm a few years back. He also informed the court that NAB has already recovered approximately Rs200 million in this matter.

THIS IS CHANGE! Independent NAB in KPK results in one senior official giving back 200 million rupees to the exchequer. This is exactly what IK is talking about. Now think about the rest of Pakistan...there are many individuals who are much bigger fish than him taking their cut. Billions looted from the people - average person has to pay for this through increased bills and taxes.
This is huge news and this is exactly what the solution to the problem is - an independent NAB; well done PTI. But of course this isn't big news because Veena Malik's son being born is more important!
