Suspects identified in MQM MNA Tahira Asif murder case
Commenting on the latest development in this high profile case, SP CIA Umer Virksaid said Asif’s daughter and driver identified the alleged killers as Imran and Kamran.
Asif was shot and injured while resisting an apparent robbery attempt in the Iqbal Town neighbourhood in June this year. She later succumbed to her injuries. MQM chief Altaf Hussain had termed her murder as an act of target killing and demanded that the government should arrest the killers of Asif within three days.
The case was classified as a high profile one in which four individuals were initially arrested, however, two were released due to lack of sufficient evidence.

@SHN: Has there ever been a politician from Karachi who contested on national level? If no, you just cannot give a generalized statement that a politician from Karachi gets murdered in Lahore simply because he is from Karachi. I'm Urdu-speaking and belong to a family that migrated from Delhi but the statement is a total misfit here and, sorry to say but, extremely offensive.
@Ali Zaidi: Yes. But Bhutto was Sindhi, a politician from Karachi means an Urdu-Speaking politician. Big difference between Sindhi and Urdu-Speaking. I completely agree with Saeed. This was definitely a political murder, and not a 'armed robbery gone bad' as stated in the article. May she rest in peace.
@saeed: Punjab has voted Bhutto into power, Junejo into NA, Ghulam Mustafa Jatoi into NA. Punjab is massive and so is its heart.
I remember Imran Khan had to name the murderers some 3 Saturdays ago..

@Adeel Abbas: Punjab Police acts only when SHABAZ needs and tells them. Sindh Police could not find the murderer if PTI female murder.
Well Done Punjab Police. It proves that you are not as corrupt as Sindh Police is. They could not identify who are target killers and cannot prosecute any major case.
