While addressing the sit-in on the 40th day of their protest, Imran announced that they have launched a text-based service to bring awareness among the people on what ‘freedom’ is.
Any one can ‘enroll’ in the programme by sending a text message on 80022. In return, PTI will send the subscriber 10-points about ‘freedom’ which the volunteer must spread among those around him.
Besides the announcement of the SMS service, Imran also listed four qualities essential for a leader to succeed and bring a change. These include honesty, fearlessness, ability to do justice and being selfless.
“We have to change ourselves,” he said. “If you change yourself, country will itself be driven towards progress.”
What seemed to be a presentation of an election manifesto, the PTI chairman once again announced the measures his party would undertake once he comes into power, which include refocusing attention on health and education. He said his fight was for those 100 million Pakistanis who lacked even basic necessities such as toilets.
“We should think about such people in ‘Naya Pakistan’”.
Imran said at least 0.4 million children died of drinking contaminated water, while the basic health units in villages neither had medicines nor the doctors.
“Pakistan spends the least on humans in the entire subcontinent,” he claimed. “We will take responsibility of the poor in ‘Naya Pakistan’.”
Comparing the different education systems present in the country, Imran said only 0.8 million children studied in private English-medium schools in contrast to 30 million studying in government-run schools and three million in religious seminaries.
The PTI leader said he was determined to implement a uniform system of education, reform government schools, and provide free education for all.
Karachi will develop Pakistan
Imran said the people Karachi were now awake, which they demonstrated by coming out in large numbers during PTI’s rally on Sunday.
He said the special thing about his rally in Karachi was the participation of people of all ethnicities. Be it Sindhi, Pashtuns, Punjabis, Baloch, Seraiki, Hazara, or the Urdu-speaking. “We are bringing all Pakistanis together on one agenda of ‘Naya Pakistan’ and are not dividing them.”
The PTI leader said once the financial hub of the country wakes up, it will lead the entire Pakistan towards the path of progress and prosperity.
Struggle will continue
Imran reassured his supporters that they will not end their sit-in till Nawaz Sharif resigns, as he commended the protesters on laying the foundations of a ‘new’ Pakistan.
“The people have resolved to struggle against oppression and not accept Pakistan’s Hosni Mubarak [Nawaz Sharif] till he resigns.”
He urged supporters to turn out for a large protest on Friday at D-Chowk and then in Lahore on Sunday where a rally will be held.

Irrespective of which political party you belong to, I think we should all support such nice initiatives in which no other party is targeted and instead the focus is on general self improvement.
