‘Illegal’ detention: APP watchmen missing for a month

KARACHI: Two watchmen of the APP journalists’ society remain missing after one month. Muhammad Hassan and Muhammad Sharif were associated with the society as watchmen for the last eight years and were picked up allegedly by the personnel of the Criminal Investigation Agency (CIA) on August 22, according to their families. A relative, Ghulam Rasool, said that the police remain tight-lipped about their disappearance and have yet to confirm the arrest of the two men. He claimed that the two men were detained by CIA’s Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) without any charges. Meanwhile, CIA chief DIG Sultan Khawaja and AVCC chief SP Nasir Aftab were not available for comments.
