Deadly encounter: Robber killed, 2 injured in shootout

FAISALABAD: A robber was killed and two shopkeepers were injured in a shootout during a robbery in Jhang Bazaar area on Monday. According to Jhang Bazaar police, two masked gunmen robbed a battery shop at Lakkar Mandi Chowk. “They snatched Rs3,200 and mobile phones from Abdul Hafeez and Zubair. They also shot them when they tried to resist,” police said. The injured shopkeepers were taken to Allied Hospital for treatment. Police took the body of the suspected robber into custody and sent it to a hospital for post mortem examination. City Police Officer (CPO) Dr Sohail Habib Tajik has formed a police team, headed by Jhang Bazaar SHO Zafar Iqbal, to look for the escaped robber.
