“The material stored in the basement of the government school was not used,” ECP Deputy Director Abdul Hameed asserted.
Earlier today, a fire broke out in a government school on Reti Gun Road, destroying material belonging to the ECP.
“The material for general elections was not affected,” Hameed said, adding, “The material stored in the basement was for the upcoming by-elections and local bodies elections.”

The deputy director further said that it is routine to store election material in government schools and permission was sought from the Punjab government in this regard.
“The commission had been using the basement for storage purposes temporarily.”
Hameed stated that the commission is estimating the losses caused to their material by the fire and will inquire into the incident.
Rescue 1122 workers managed to extinguish the fire. School officials and students were evacuated soon after the fire broke out and sent home.

@Sara: I am not any body's Troll and don't support any political or religious party in Pakistan but I am for democracy and fair election in Pakistan, my birth place, since I live far away in a democratic country, I see that there is really no democracy in Pakistan but bunch of looters got together in the National and Provincial Assemblies to enrich themselves on the back of this unfortunate nation called Pakistan. In democratic countries the government can't get away by massacring 14 and injuring 82 unarmed political activists and the police refused to register(FIR) the case but they did. When Nawaz Sharif dragged his feet and put hurdles for verification of 4 constituencies which IK was demanding initially, what was the harm to do so but he knew and we know now that there was wholesale election rigging taken place mostly in Punjab. Now it is a different ball game and it seems the king has no clothes. Any one with an iota of intelligence would know why the records of the last elections has been destroyed by some one to hide their criminal activities. By the way if you look closely on the half way scorched bag, it shows clearly the date 2013 elections, unfortunately the ECP is lying and could be part of this criminal activity. What IK is saying has lots of credibility, and the only way this nation of Pakistan ever progress like the rest of the world to change and revamp this whole system of exploitation by dynastic political parties, there is no other way. If you guys are still supporting the same old system then you are destroying the country bit by bit and your children and grandchildren will have nothing to be proud of. I would highly recommend you and other die hard supporters of PML-N to read Fahd Husain's articles in this paper, he seems to me makes lots of sense and is a true patriot.

For PTI trolls, its always better to read some piece of news because trolling on it. ECP material was for the local body elections. Besides trolling, I would genuinely believe that fire can be caused by trolls so fuel the current speeches of IK.

ECP keeps saying that no material of vital importance was stored, but they don't bother giving the exact details and type of material stored there. Now that is a 'vital' piece of information they are not sharing.
Of Course this had to happen !! I wonder who and what will be next sacrificed to protect the the guilty. The more this happens The more I believe in IK and TQ.

I work in insurance. Schools are the cheapest/easiest to insure against a fire because the risk of an actual fire at a school is next to nothing...However, following this experience, i think all insurance companies in Pakistan need to include an additional question in risk surveys to make sure we are pricing adequately: "does your school contain PML noon's bogus votes?"
