Annual celebrations will be held in the district from November 19 to November 22 in this regard. District coordination officer (DCO) Hassan Iqbal called a meeting of senior police officials and concerned departments to make arrangements for the pilgrims’ visit. The meeting agreed on necessary facilities for the yatrees and arrangements were finalised for their stay in Nankana Sahib.
The DCO directed water and power development authority (Wapda), Lahore electric supply company (Lesco) and Pakistan telecommunication (PTCL) representatives to ensure the unhindered supply of electricity and smooth lines for international calls at the temple gurdwara Janam Asthan as well as at the yatrees’ accommodation areas for the duration of their stay. Members of the meeting also agreed on strict security arrangements and patrolling at the gurdwara. The DCO emphasised the need to maintain strict law and order and near the gurdwara. APP
