                                        LAHORE:

A single bench of Lahore High Court on Wednesday dismissed a petition filed by some lawyers seeking directions to the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) allowing them to sit for a written test for the post of public prosecutor for five times. Advocate Tariq Mahmood and others filed a petition challenging a Punjab Public Service Commission’s policy which does not allow candidates to re-sit examinations for vacant posts for more than five times. The petitioners said the commission had not announced the condition earlier and requested the court to direct it to allow them to appear for the exam. A law officer on behalf of the commission said no candidate could be allowed to sit for exams for a post for five times. This was in accordance with the commission’s rules, he said.
