The PAT pressed fresh murder charges for the deaths of three people in clashes with the police that took place on the night of August 30 after protesters allegedly attempted to storm the prime minister’s official residence and used cranes to remove barricades.
The Secretariat police registered the case on the complaint of the PAT Central Deputy Secretary Information Umar Riaz Abbasi.
On September 15, Judge Raja Jawad Abbasi of the session court ordered the Station House Officer in Secretariat police to register a first information report (FIR) against PM Nawaz and his close aides as well as the former Inspector General of Police (IGP) against the killing of PAT workers.
The complainant named IG Islamabad Khalid Khattak, Punjab IGP Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera, Islamabad Deputy Commissioner Mujahid Sherdil, Islamabad SSP operations, SHO Secretariat police station and others in the FIR.
The ministers were booked for involvement in the murder of PAT supporters, Rafiullah, 25, and Gulfam Adil, 30,
In the FIR, Abbasi alleged that Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar gave orders to men clad in police uniforms to open fire at PAT chief Dr Tahirul Qadri, several key party leaders and their supporters during his visit of the site along with other officials on the night of the incident.
Following the orders, men wearing uniforms of Islamabad police, Punjab police, Punjab Constabulary and Railways police opened fire on the unarmed men, women and children resulting in the killing of two men and leaving over 1,000 people injured, it stated.
“The men opened indiscriminate straight fire on Qadri and other leaders of PAT and heavy shelling followed,” it added.
“Dr Qadri’s health deteriorated rapidly after ‘expired dated shells’ were fired,” said the FIR.
The FIR revealed that Nisar was accompanied by IG Islamabad, SSP Islamabad, DC Islamabad, several SPs and DSPs, SHOs and their subordinates belonging to Islamabad police, Punjab police, Punjab Constabulary, Kashmir police and railways police who were equipped with deadly weapons at the time of his visit.
The FIR specifically added that Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafique came to the site of the incident flanked by men clad in railways police uniform.
The case has been registered under sections 302 (premeditated murder), 324 (attempted murder), 148 (rioting, armed with deadly weapon), 149 (every member of unlawful assembly guilty of offence committed in prosecution of common object) and 109 (punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code and section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997, on court’s orders.
In response to a petition filed by PAT leader Abbasi, Judge Raja Jawad Abbasi of the sessions court had ordered the SHO Secretariat police on Monday to register a case against PM Nawaz and others against the killing of PAT workers.
At least 13 FIRs were registered in different police stations against the leadership of PAT and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), after their supporters clashed with police on the same night.

@Youth of Pakistan: "We dont stnadby Imran Khan beacuse he looks pretty." Essentially, pretty is used for girls, so, do you mean handsome? "We standby his vision, we stand for our Generations to come." Your generation is too young and inexperienced and is likely to fall for any glitter even if it is not gold!
There is no shame left in the govt. Nawaz Sharif should resign and let Pakistan progress. With him in power we will only see more bridges but no real progress i.e., clean water, power, education for all. Since Sharif family has no value for all these things, they should leave. WE DO NOT NEED LOHARS FOR OUR LEADERS.
In no place in the world would a case of "murder" be registered when police were discharging their duties preventing storming of an official residence. The Superior Judiciary should take note of this mockery of our weak judicial system and the leaders if the mob be charged. It's one thing to democratically protest peacefully outside; it's not democratic or LEGAL to try to enter a building deemed off limits by the government or LEAs.
@Blithe: So, don't you see the Qadri is coming up with FIR's in order to save himself as he reckons he could be in trouble because of inciting his workers to defy law and to brick bat the police, not to mention the firing which took place from the Minhaj Secretariat. Actually, he should be taken to court to meet the ends of justice. And, to be fair, let the courts try Sharif's for the FIR's registered against them by Qadri. Let law and justice prevail in all matters.
police is supposed to protect the govt property, during the course discharge of their duties if the intruders are hurt or killed due to their wrong doings. how the head of state is responsible and as why name included in fir. should N S allow them to distroy govt property. tahir ul padri and IQ khan are big liers . lust of power and support of notorious ones turn them blind. they can't differentiate between right and wrong.
If Sharif Dynasty and Zardari Dynasty kept ruling Pakistan in their autocratic way then those people demanding political rights can demand more, look at Scotland and Catalonia.
Imran Khan one man has set a fire on the tail of status qou, they are running in circle trying to bite of their own past but it is impossible for them to hide the truth.
These United Status Qou Parties, who promise to drag each other on the road in election campaign, join hands and stand shoulder to shoulder with each other after the election.
Their affection towards themselves is evident in the Joint Session of the Parliament, where each of the looter respects the other.
My Friends our eyes are now open, we can see, we can understand the game you play, the dance you tap.
Get Ready to Face us
We are the Nation, We are the People of Pakistan.
Its time we off load you from our nation like in the flight yesterday.
We dont stnadby Imran Khan beacuse he looks pretty
We standby his vision, we stand for our Generations to come
We stand for a Naya Pakistan Insha Allah
Cannot see the government working. Parliament should be dissolved. How people will accept a PM who is involved in killings.
@raju,
Cases are already filed against TUQ and IK.
when PAT talks about the murder of those ten persons then they should also talk about those three policemen who were killed by PAT workers in response...case should be filed against Qadri also to provoke his supporters against the state of Pakistan
Nawaz sahib, What dignity do you have left to face foreign Head of States with murder and criminal charges against you in the court of law? Even if Dharna goes away tomorrow no foreign leader will come visit you. The only dignified thing left to do is to resign.
It's just an FIR .
No court in the world would give credence to it.
IK and TuQ were both clearly inciting violence and were "verbally leading " the miscreants and should be thrown in jail.
