LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif once again lashed out at Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairperson Imran Khan on Wednesday, saying that the PTI chief should have cancelled or postponed the ongoing protests in Islamabad and shared the sorrow of the people affected by floods.

While addressing the flood victims in Multan, the Punjab chief minister remarked that Imran should have stood by the flood-affected people during these difficult times instead of forgetting about them.

"Music nights are taking place at PTI's sit-in; the people of Punjab will never forgive you," Shahbaz said during his fiery speech.

"I kept on requesting you to leave the protests, or at least postpone them and stand by the flood victims," he added, addressing the PTI chief.

In a brief statement, Shahbaz also criticised Pakistan Awami Tehreek chief Tahirul Qadri, who is leading the second sit-in in the federal capital, stating that Qadri is from Canada and is not affected by the flood situation.

Shahbaz also announced that the first installment of relief goods will be given to the victims before Eid.

"I will come and give it to you myself along with other ministers," he added.

During his speech, the Punjab CM thanked everyone involved in relief and rescue efforts, adding that the administration, Rescue 1122, army, police, navy, irrigation as well as other institutions will continue their efforts.

Showing his support to the flood-affected people, Shahbaz said that he will not rest until the last flood victim is rehabilitated and back on their feet.

Showbaz Why are you concerning so much about protests. Can't you share the pain and suffering of flood victims with all other parties that are standing with you.Pti has already started its protests to share the pain of Pakistani people even before the flood. These floods are the results of your bad policies and ignorance regarding pakistani people's basic needs and high concern to fill your ponderous lust.
