The district government has imposed Section 144 and prohibited motorbike riding for three days in the district.
A statement issued from Mardan Commissioner Shahidullah Khan’s office read that Section 144 had been imposed on Monday.
The statement added that anyone travelling on a motorbike during the days would be held and tried under Section 188. The prohibition will end on Wednesday (today).
Moreover, more than a hundred motorcyclists were arrested in different parts of Mardan and cases were filed against them for violating the ban.
The measure was taken in view of the attacks carried out on polio teams in the recent past.
