On September 9, an election tribunal in Balochistan had disqualified the JUI-F MNA for holding an ineligible degree and ordered re-elections in NA-261, Pishin-Ziarat, with immediate effect.
The election tribunal ruled that Maulvi Agha's degree was not BA equivalent, not that it is “fake”.
The JUI-F MNA held a degree from a religious seminary, which he had submitted to contest the May 11 general elections last year. JUI-F won three seats in the National Assembly during the elections.
Runner-up candidate Muhammad Essa Roshan of Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) had challenged Muhammad’s degree, which was proven to be ineligible during the proceedings of the tribunal.
The tribunal had then sent its findings to the ECP.
Correction: An earlier version of this article had incorrectly referred to Maulvi Agha's degree as "fake." However, the ECP only ruled that his degree was not a BA equivalent. The error is regretted.

Criminals and hypocrites in the name of Islam.... what a shame
@OS: It's not even remotely the same issue. It's more like rejecting pre-2002 degrees of NED, LUMS, IBA etc. on the basis that since there wasn't any HEC prior to 2002 so the degrees cannot be HEC recognized.
@Muhibullah: In the words of famous Raeesani.... "degree is a degree", who cares if its not equivalent to what the law requires.
Update: Spokesman from JUI says; When Maulana Agha Muhammad has completed Dawrah Hadeeth and is an authorised scholar. Back when he graduated, there were no madrassah boards to which madaris could be accredited

Regardless of anyone's position, it's a case of sloppy journalism to refer to his degree as a "fake degree"
@Libra: @Bashir:
You're making allegations without being informed about the specifics of this case. PkMAP's Essa Roshan made a plea that Molvi Agha Muhammad’s seminary degree was not equivalent to B.A. So even the opposition, in this case, accepts that Maulvi sahib does have a degree, their claim is that his degree is not equivalent to a BA, so there's absolutely no grounds for jail or for accusing him of cheating. As for the judgement itself, it's contrary to precedent. Aalimiyah Shahadah from a madrassah is considered equivalent to MA Islamiat & MA Arabic. He has been elected member of NA in 2008 elections as well.
Look at his long long beard. Posing to be a pious man. A cheat like his fellow partymen
Maulana Fazal Ur Rehman, one more wicket Gone :p
He must also be behind bars.
