FAISALABAD: An Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) on Monday extended the judicial remand of MPA Rana Shoaib Idrees to September 20.

Idrees and accomplice Muhammad Zakariyya were sent to jail on judicial remand on September 10 after the court refused to extend his physical remand.

The MPA and seven other men face charges of attacking the Khurarianwala police station on July 18, 2014.

The MPA had obtained protective bail from Lahore High Court until August 28 after a case was registered against him.

He was granted bail by the ATC on August 28. On September 4, however, the court refused to extend it.

On September 5, the court granted three-day physical remand of the MPA and his accomplices. The remand was later extended for two more days on the police’s request.

On September 10, he was sent to jail on judicial remand.

On Monday, Idrees and Zakariya were brought to the ATC. Judge Ishtiaq Ahmad sent them again to jail by extending their judicial remand up to September 20.
