Get the look: Beige and black trumps monochrome

Time and again, Ayesha Omar has proven herself to be a fashion wiz with her impeccable sartorial choices

Pairing up the right outfit with the right jewellery and makeup is an art in its own right — not everyone has it in them to do it. While gowns and cocktail dresses are not so common in Pakistani culture, an occasion may often arise when they are just what you need to justify your fashion quiver. Needless to say, Ayesha Omar is nothing short of a fashion icon. Time and again, she has proven herself to be a fashion wiz with her impeccable sartorial choices. Her look at the store launch of an ice cream parlour completely bowled us over. Here is how you can steal her style:

Hair and makeup

Those who really want to make a statement should know that the big, bouncy blow-dry is out — centre-parted poker-straight hair is back and Ayesha sure is rocking the look. The actor-singer is sporting minimal makeup — light smokey eyes and peachy pink lips. Try out MAC’s Pro Long Wear Lipcreme for a similar look.

Outfit

Ayesha wore a gorgeous black and beige lace cocktail dress by Shehla Chatoor. The dress is well-tailored and beautifully draped. Black and beige is the kind of combination you can hardly ever go wrong with — in our opinion, the combination is better than monochrome — but what really impressed us was the striking yellow embellishment on the neck of this gorgeous dress, adding that extra zing to Ayesha’s oh-so-classy look. If you have a tailor who is really good at what he does, then you could run to the nearest bazaar and get yourself something similar stitched.

Accessories

From the pictures, we can’t possibly tell what shoes or earrings Ayesha is wearing — her hair is covering her earrings and her floor-length dress is hiding her shoes, but she tells us that for her footwear, she opted for shiny golden pumps from Nine West and to embellish her ears, she wore long dangly dull gold earrings. Wish we could have seen them because they sure sound like exactly what was needed to complete the look.
