Bilawal to contest 2018 elections from Benazir's home constituency
Bilawal will contest the 2018 elections from the NA-207 seat, which is the home constituency of his mother, former prime minister Benzair Bhutto.
The PPP patron-in-chief made this announcement while addressing the media at Bilawal House.
In the May 2013 elections, Faryal Talpur, sister of former president Asif Ali Zardari was allotted this seat.
Ruling out the possibility of contesting by-elections, Bilawal said, “I will start my parliamentary politics from my family seat during the next general elections.”
The patron-in-chief, who had organised lunch in honour of journalists, also lashed out at the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf and Pakistan Awami Tehreek -- who are currently staging a sit-in at the federal capital to overthrow the incumbent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz government.
“Lives and properties of people are at stake in the country owing to floods, but Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri are unwilling to give up their sit-ins.”
“Politics of dharnas should come to an end and we should all support the flood victims and those displaced owing to Operation Zarb-e-Azb,” he added.
Welcoming a statement issued by the Punjabi Talban to call off their armed struggle, Bilawal said, “This does not mean the government should not take action against those who have killed innocent people and martyred our army personnel. The law should take its course against the terrorists.”
“The Sindhi Taliban is a myth, Sindh is a land of sufis,” he added.
Further, the PPP patron-in-chief claimed no one could divide Sindh and PPP would foil all these conspiracies.
Bilawal also compared the development in Sindh and Punjab and was of the view that development schemes have been going on in Punjab for the last 60 years while Sindh was ignored by higher authorities in Islamabad.
The patron-in-chief, flanked by Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah, PPP-AJK president, Sherry Rehman and PPP Punjab president Manzoor Ahmed Wattoo, was later briefed on floods as the deluge heads south.
Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah announced to give Rs100 million for flood victims in Punjab on behalf of the PPP. Another, Rs100 million were also donated for flood victims in Azad Kashmir by the party and fifty trucks of supplies sent to Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

Bilawal Bhutto, you will get my vote when you start changing those who are governing Sind province now. We need a dynamic CM and a forward looking cabinet in changing rural Sind. Look at M.A. Jinnah Road, looks like a decaying place. Can you do anything in your personal capacity to make look cleaner and a better looking road. To start with make a four lane road going to seaport. Start giving 500 yard plot in Thatta district and beyond for people of Karachi and those residing in rural Sind. Do serious changes now to get majority vote. Your opponent is complacent now so Win Karachi Bilawal. Those who dare will win and winning is everything.

If HH Bilawal Zardari decides to contest election in his hometown, then one of the two followings will happen with high possibility: He will be elected uncontested; as either opposing candidate(s) will either withdraw or will be harassed by Jiyalas and will be forced to withdraw.. or If polling does happen, then he will be elected with 99.99% of the votes in his favor, and 99.999% of the voters in his constituency will cast their votes.. Those who believe and love the lifetime leaders and dictatorial heads of their parties hate new faces. They want to maintain their hegemony in national politics and are afraid of any new young leader. The strong reaction and hatred proves that some are still afraid of the PPP despite murdering its two generations in cold blood. If Bilawal is not such a big leader or threat then why react so strongly? BTW, nobody ever demands about the case against BB’s murder. They were all up in arms when coalition govt was in power now not a peep to find BB’s killers.
Bilawal will prove to be another jewel in the crown of the dynastic democracy (more appropriately shamocracy) of Pakistan! It will be small wonder if Bilawal is easily voted and supported into the parliament and comes forthe as the parliamentary leader of PPP and even the nominee for our next premier, should PPP manage a majority. This would occur because it would make for a popular campaign strategy for thye elections, using once again the name of the slain Bhuttos. If voted into power, the onus of responsibility for progression of these trends will lay upon the shoulder of Sindhis and residents of BBs home district, who for the third generation in a row, will chose the kind of suppressive policies that have kept them downtrodden, distant from health and education, employment and service structures A heavy price to pay, albeit done repeatedly, mainly in the name of the franchise that is Bhutto's name and legacy! In Punjab's case the same is going to be the case with Maryam Nawaz and Hamza Shahbaz, the young Shareefs who like their Bhutto counterparts have neither experience, accumen nor wisdom, but will be voted by people on the name of their family! My question for critics of the Azadi march, PTI and PAT and for supporters of this brand of democracy is simple. i am sure your parties have leaders and politicians with caliber and abilities better than Baby Shareefs and Bhuttos. Would you ever dare to challenge the dynastic policies within your own party and let the youth, the real youth come forward under genuine leadership? Or is it acceptable that things continue as such?

The inheritance system currently at work in Pakistan, where the PPP and PML-N hand down power between generations, from father to son etc, like royalty is proof that this is a sham democracy. What possible claim can he have to rule the country other than his name being Bhutto? (It's actually Zardari but that shows you how shallow the Pakistan Feudal Party has become) The same applies to the Sharifs. These two parties can deliver nothing, it will not be long before they are over thrown and this time the people will not let them escape to their Dubai and Saudi palaces. They will stay on this soil and pay the price.
