ISLAMABAD:

Several roads in the I-9 and I-10 Industrial Area are in need of repair after the recent toreential rains.

The road from NDC to 7-Up Chowk along sectors I-10 and I-9, which is used by heavy traffic, has broken down at several places.

“The entire road, especially near the Islamabad Railway Station and I-10/3 industrial area, is in a very bad shape. Several accidents have occurred in the recent days,” said Talha Nadeem, who lives in Sector I-10/2.

Similarly, the road from I-8 Police Station to the HEC stop has big holes posing a serious threat to motorcyclists. Traffic load on this road has doubled because of the metro bus project construction work on 9th Avenue.

The link road from Sabzi Mandi to NDC has also been broken and requires urgent maintenance while the road in front of H-9 College also has several cracks.

When contacted, an official of the Capital Development Authority said the civic agency regularly carries out maintenance of the roads.
