Attack on media: Express staffer detained, sent to jail

Arrested employee is associate producer of Express TV show ‘To The Point’, which is hosted by Shahzeb Khanzada

ISLAMABAD: Police on Saturday arrested the associate producer of Express TV show ‘To The Point’, which is hosted by Shahzeb Khanzada. Twenty-seven-year-old Adnan Hussain, who has been covering the sit-ins since August 14, was sent to Adiala Jail along with other protesters. His colleague Muhammad Kamil told The Express Tribune that Hussain sent him a message from a prison van that he had been arrested by police without providing any information regarding the reasons of his arrest. Later, police produced Hussain before the court along with other protesters and sent him to Adiala Jail. When contacted, spokesperson of Islamabad police, Ibrar Hussain, mentioned that it is important to check whether the associate producer was arrested along with other protesters or separately.
