Lahore High Court would resume on Friday (today) hearing of petitions against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s Azadi March and Pakistan Awami Tehreek’s Inqilab Marches.
On August 13, the bench had declared the marches and sit-ins unconstitutional.
The three-member bench, headed by Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan, said the demands of the agitating parties were unconstitutional. The bench had also warned them of legal action if they violated the Constitution during the marches.
Justice Shahid Hameed Dar and Justice Muhammad Anwarul Haq are other members of the bench.
The Lawyers’ Foundation for Justice and others had filed the petitions requesting the court to restrain the PTI and the PAT from marching on Islamabad.
The counsel for PTI had assured the court that the sit-in would be peaceful.
