Public toilets: Improve public toilets says CDA chief

Maintenance of public toilets will be ensured on a regular basis

ISLAMABAD:

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman Maroof Afzal has said public toilets will be improved and their maintenance ensured on a regular basis. He has also directed to shift public toilets that are underused along the highways so passengers and commuters may be facilitated. 

He said this while chairing a meeting at CDA headquarters to review conditions of public toilets maintained by the authority in various sectors of Islamabad.

The chairman was informed that repair and maintenance of the facilities is being carried out by the civic agency as the contractor is only responsible to run the facility. Afzal directed the relevant department to award the new contract at the earliest and for the future, ensure that the contractor will be responsible for repair, maintenance and renovation.
