He adds that once in power, he will adopt a much simpler and leaner form of government.
First, he will bulldoze the governor house in Lahore. Then, he will turn his attention towards the governor house in Peshawar which will be made a park while the 'governor house' in Nathia Gali will be turned into a five-star hotel which will earn much needed revenue.

@WB what a nonesense. Which Dacoit? We yes WE and there are many many of us that oted him in and we will protect this vote if needed. Wait for 2018 or go to Court and PROVE he is decoit.
Which IG will win? IG Police Islamabad is very much holding the fort but still IG Police Punjab has also been called from Lahore to crack down on dharnas people and police has already arrested hundreds of people irrespective of the fact whether the person is a supporter of Imran or Qadri or not. I have myself seen footage on television channels showing PTI women loaded in prison which perhaps drove away to infamous Adiala jail. I have also read the news that police is very heavily picketed near dharnas and on all roads of Islamabad whereby all those who return to their homes after listening Imran Khan have been arrested. Now I will go to bed and wish that in morning when I wake up there should not be any news about blood spilling which will be of none but of Pakistanis and therefore Pakistani police should not attack their own compatriots. Which IG is in command?? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
@pervaiz: lol, wah, wah! So we should just the leave the dacoit in the PM's chair?? What reasoning you have, remember the dacoit is ruling over us he is not sitting in his house in model town minding his own business.
@Maria: Imran Khan can also talk about Marium Nawaz and Captain Safdar, i hope you know the story, or he can also talk about Tahira Syed, your views please???
@Humza: Why go to KPK, just come to Lahore and see the kind of devastation 3 days of rain can bring to this city ruled by the Sharif clan since 1985! Yes there is a metro bus but no medicine in the govt hospitals, no justice in police stations and no clean drinking water in over 80% of the city..
IK is fully democratic ,with attacking parliament ,tv station this is called terrorist democracy if police take action against these unlawful act this is called undemocratic . All other institutions and politicians are corrupt and working against ik only IK is gift of God for Pakistan .This reflect some mental illness and psychological disorder in which patient thinks all universe is against him and all other are bad only I am right !
Please put all troublemakers in jail..
@Alter Ego: Again, I never said IK was the most popular leader. You're just assuming things :)
One should ask this guy Nisar if he has given orders to arrest those who has caused that massacre in Model Town Lahore, OH, their thug Gulu is on bail as I understand it. PML-N has and is prone to violence when they don't get their way. Any one recalls how their thugs, some of them were MNAs and MPA stormed the Supreme Court of Pakistan where the justices had to take refuge to save their lives. These are the same people and the same party which has inflected murderous violence on unarmed political activists in Lahore and Islamabad. I don't support any political or religious parties in Pakistan but when I see thugs and thieves , I see thugs and thieves who are prevalent in the NA and are supporting themselves and the corrupt government in Islamabad. Time has changed and change will be coming to Pakistan and these people who has drained the treasury to buy the properties and stash ill gotten money abroad has to answer to the nation soon. They can't perpetuate their nefarious designs on the nation for too long with the collaborations of Saudi Arabia and US.
Ch Nisar how about talking about the PML-N MNA's sons who gang raped a girl in Punjab instead... Please stop with your lies we are sick of Pakistani style democracy we all know what this democratic setup achieved in the last government of five years stop describing the Pakistani parliament as if it's a holy place.... all you PPP PML parliamentarians sell your souls for small gains
To PTI/ PAT... I appreciate your efforts but please stop wasting your efforts on a nation of fools this nation seems to be happy with regimes that have Corruption, Bribery, VVIP Protocols (that even don't allow public ambulances to pass), Load shedding, injustice, theft, etc...
IK is right or wrong is another thing. Having justice for all in Pakistan is something which cannot be denied by anyone. The present system is devoid of justice.
Law of Conflict of Interest needs to be enacted. Nawaz Sharif cannot run his business while he and his family are in power. This is 'Conflict of Interest'. This is an internationally recognized law.
@Alter Ego: Er...I never said they were. You are missing my point. I simply said most of the people who I speak to support IK. Its not possible for me to speak to all 300000 people in my halqa. I speak to people I come in contact with...family, friends, work colleagues, shop staff, etc. And most of them support IK. Why does this fact annoy pmln supporters so much?
Gullo Butt of PTI arrested... hahahaha
Thanks for appreciating my Bhaijan (he is born Aug 43, Im Dec43 + we both are Urdu speaking) Gen Pervez Musharraf, former President of Pakistan and I do not want to indulge in new controversy but the fact remains that except few mistakes his rule was one of the best and we would have progressed in reality and not in papers but the opportunists never wished him to continue so he had to quit. Now he is paying back through his nose to raise the slogan Pakistan First. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / Kuwait / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
Nawaz Sharif and his courtiers are trying their best to create a law and disorder situation. They are provoking Army to become political deads (not Shaheeds because it is a sacred word and they don't deserve it) for sake of sham democracy. There are Human Rights violations but Courts are quiet? They(Supreme Court) don't expect that PTI being a dignified Party would attack it like it was attacked by Nawaz Sharif and his goons sometime back, a black spot on our history. Nawaz is now using different tactics to tame Judiciary. He knows only one way and we are all familiar with that.
@salman: @Afrooz: Most of the people you will speak to in Sindh will support PPP. Same is the case in Balochistan about their tribal leaders. That does not mean that PPP and Tribal leaders are the most popular in the country. Grow Up and talk with some logic.
@salman: The people you mentioned are not nearly enough to win a seat in PA. Let alone topple a govt. 100,000 ---150,000 people are in a halqa. Do some math.
Musharraf rule was the best Pakistan ever had.
People asked Winston Churchill in Second World War
"Will we win the war"?
Churchill replied
"If there is justice in the courts we will win the war"
Is there any justice for a comman man in Pakistan?
Imran and Qadri are yet to be put to test but the so called politicians and representative of people are definitely on the wrong side.
Attack on supreme court 97 (If anyone does that in a true democratic country his carrier is gone for life) Qarz Autaro Mulk Savaro Dollar account seize in 98 (Politicians took out their dollars at 11th hour while usurping the dollar account of rest of nation)
Indeed Pakistanis have short memories..........................
We as loyal Pakistanis should supports justice irrespective of political parties. If we do not support justice then we are ourself corrupt and needs soul searching...........
what about Zardari's government o great IK?
Thank you police not charging DJ Butt as terrorist but violator of Sec 144. I had been extra grateful if he had not been arrested at all or alternatively had been arrested late tonight after he had ignited dharna people today when dharna turns one month old. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Kuwait / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
Imran is 99% correct i think so .
Democracy without merit and justice supports whom...
After seeing PPP's and PML-N's the most worst ever regimes now the nation will remember the Musharraf's regime because in reality Musharraf's regime was much the best and prosperous for Pakistan and Pakistani people much more than PPP's and PML's regimes except few regrettable and saddened events. At last heart's feelings of Imran Khan described by tongue...
people in pakistan have been brought up with this indoctrination that if the rich and influential rigg elections steel national money it is fine and should be accepted as such.
For all the educated people my appeal is to read
Constitution of pakistan (All the politicians talk about it but probably they have not read it)
Vision of Qaid About Pakistan
Democracy without 'justice' means what and supports whom.....
The real face of Imran Khan AKA Thumka Khan starting to expose now "Musharraf’s dictatorship was better than Nawaz Sharif’s democracy"
No wonder you supported Musharaf in referendum PTI and it's leader Imran Khan has lost it......I have lost total respect for Imran Khan after hearing his abusive language.
Now everyone is remembering or comparing with the Mush era. Khan sahib you missed that boat, if you had taken the PM offer then, you could have made a huge difference in people's lives, corruption would have been eradicated, people of rest of Pakistan would be living in paradise of the KP level. Now you will stay on the 'sarak' for a long time.
@Maria: you are low for bringing personal family matters like you know anything? If Imran khans fault is making claims without evidence then Nawaz should be in jai for that is all he has done. The person who needs to grow up Maria is YOU! Capeesh!
@Wollstonecraft: Read NY Times Op-eds on Pakistan opposition leaders, also and very importantly the Wall Street Journal, reporting on "soft Coup" in Islamabad. These appeared last week. You should be able check them up in your local library. Good Luck!
@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: You have been regularly posting agenda driven comments. I wonder why ET is publishing your posts without fail?
Please take note that you are publishing agenda driven comments against your comments policy. Do I have to point those out?
@Saad: The fact that Imran Khan is praising the dictatorship of Musharraf which gave Pakistan all of the current problems shows that PTI has lost it. Are you democratic or do you support military rule IK? No electricity was added in 10 years Musharraf rule but only violence and terrorism but you say 10 years of that is good? No wonder you want violent protests and don't believe in parliament. You are exposing yourself PTI supporters! You want Pakistan to be like Syria, Iraq, Egypt or Libya where there is military rule and chaos.
@Maria: Typical PMLN supporter, can't make an argument based on merit so you propose talking about Jemima and TUQs children. None of them hold any political office, unlike your PM whose nepotism has filled his government with family members. But you don't understand that distinction because you are used to nepotism in your party. What's next? You'll blame IK's dog ... oh wait, your minister of Railways has already raised it in the Parliament - talk about lack of substance! This is exactly why we need a change, because this is a struggle for new thinking. You guys want to talk personal matters and we are making a case purely on matters that relate to the state. BTW this parliament is a useless debating club if the ministers are going to talk about IK's dog. Tell us one concrete step the parliament has taken to help Pakistani public. TUQ is right, we need to change this corrupt system.
@Afrooz: How nice of you to worry about your "once beautiful city" and conveniently ignore the rigged elections, the 14 model town murders, the down trodden economy, all thanks to NS govt.
How about you learn how to think beyond your own nose every once in a while.
"The worst democracy is still better than the dictatorship"-- Anonymous
GO NAWAZ GO is repeated today again in Sargodha when PM Nawaz Sharif wanted to address flood effected people in Sargodha which is not only most regrettable but pinching too simply because after all Nawaz is none but Prime Minister of Pakistan and he was addressing not foreigners but his own compatriots. How do you view this new development where flood victims shout Go Nawaz Go? Simple common sense demands that the uprooted persons should have asked PM for help but instead they preferred to hoot PM Nawaz right before his own eyes. Just yesterday Go Nawaz Go was shouted in Azad Kashmir and the same is repeated today in Sargodha gives clue to the fact that popularity of PM Nawaz is on decline. Are you with me or against me? “Musharraf’s dictatorship was better than Nawaz Sharif’s democracy,” says Imran Khan.
It took Imran Khan 7 years to get this in his head.
This is pity that our young generation is busy fighting to prove that their leaders are the best, sinless and gave no flaws. They forget that no matter who is the leader, they use their supporters to build strong motions against opponents. If our youngsters concentrate on few things they can find out who is who. Unfortunately, it seems our Young's don't want to struggle to find out the truth. Pakistanies that have seen the independence movement or even the political situation of 1977 know the importance of our democratic system. Our current system is not a result of few years of participation of political activities. It is based on years of learning starting from 1857. In fact, age of Pakistani Democracy is just six and half year, still we have a long way to go. Besides, there are lots of question that arise in mind about PTI leadership, senior citizens are seriously thinking that can we trust this mob and handover our countries future in the hands that are aggressive, violent and struben and want to go agaunst the constitution?
@sofee: With all due respect, please come to Pakistan ... sit in this "dharna" and show us your support. Our beautiful city has become shabby and people are genuinely suffering all for fueling the egos of these 2 so-called revolutionaries.

And what about murder of Zuhra Shahid in Karachi. Do you know who killed him??
Every time IK makes another "in x days I will reveal abc and it will blow your mind", I chuckle, because of how tabloid it all sounds, and then pity him for reaching an all time low of how pathetic he can get. Well he continues. And to think a few years ago I used to support IK. I remember his "i am going to London to file cases against Altaf Hussain", and then he kept delaying. and prolonging. And i still thought he was just under threat or something and couldnt do it. Now i realize this is him trying to be over smart, because he thinks he's studied at oxford and lived abroad he is smarter than everyone else. sadly his thinly veiled attempts at attention grabbing are too transparent. He's become the boy who cried wolf. When people have something to show or say, they do it, they don't set appointments to do it.
IK is so unfortunate.......approx 30 days and still not able to get any "lashain".......Comon PTI youth please volunteer??? so IK can get some "political support-o-sympathy" and bring the soonami you all want so much!!
@Anon: I have no idea what %. But I am not trying to say x or y % of people in pak support IK. All I'm saying is that I know a lot of people who do, and most of the people I speak to support IK. Someone else can speak to a whole different set of people and claim the opposite. But to say that "nobody" supports IK is not the truth. Likewise to say "everyone" supports IK would also not be the truth.
What single step govt. has taken in past 14 months to ensure that no irregularities, as alleged, resurface when people go out to vote in next election. Instead it disfunctioned the chairman of NADRA who had a key role in bringing out the real truth out of this fiasco. Govt. instead acted like a driver insane who hits every thing but the road. Every Pakistanis must understand the power of his/her vote. How viable a system can be where for opening a 50 rupee mobile connection you are required to have biometric verification but it not worthy of an option for verification of votes.
Who else staged dharna for one month other than Imran + Qadri? Many political leaders right from inception of Pakistan have conducted protests, led processions and staged dharnas etc but not a single one can boast of so successful dharna like what being staged in Islamabad at D Chowk. Who opposes me or who supports me? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / Kuwait / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
Also name the culprits who were involved in killing of PTI's senior most leader Zahra Shahid Hussain in Karachi in May 2013.
What legal steps taken by PTI and what is the current status. I believe IK is afraid of taking legal action in Karachi. Pathetic!
Khan sb, how long will you rely on hearsay and gossips of your colleagues? As a national level leader you should come with a solid proof when you speak against someone otherwise it will be a sort of shame for you if you can't prove it.
Go Nawaz Go was shouted right before PM Nawaz which I saw myself yesterday evening at ARY television when he was in Azad Kashmir to show his sympathies towards the flood effected people. It was really very shocking to see that PM Nawaz tried his best to cool the down but Go Nawaz Go was so aloud that PM Nawaz simply could not do anything except swallow the bitter quinine pill. News caster did say that Go Imran Go was also shouted by the same crowd but which negates Imran to some extent but yet the two simply can neither be equated nor compared in any case because Nawaz is very much on the throne and people did dare right before his eyes to shout Go Nawaz Go. I wonder none has picked it up and commented here unless I have missed it. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / Kuwait / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
wow...now he is a private eye........ what a joker
Whatever happen one thing is for sure our country is finally on right track because of this. credit goes to IK.
@eyeopener: For an idiot who saw one man climbing WH fence, how did u fail to notice how the protestors in Ferguson were handled as compared to Model Town? Big fail!
@shah so I guess you have exact intelligence on the people talking in favor of PMLN or against PTI are paid? I take the disease of just imagining something has gotten to you?
Well said IK, Pakistanis are not equal citizens. Pakistani awam are sitting in strom, rain, scorching heat day or night, and their leader is sleeping in one and a half karor airconditioned luxurious container and only comes out for 15-20 minutes to address. Well said equal citizens are y and your sons are not citizen of Pakistan? Come out and live like your paid listener(awam).
@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: " I heard in news that 400 policemen are being sent from Lahore " Where do you get such information from? Are you coordinated with the leaders of the sit-ins, who do get info from IB as claimed by IK? "...I am afraid human blood may spill over which must be avoided under all circumstances, aameen." I fully agree but if you are coordinating with the people and their sit-in leaders, why don't you advise them to quit while they are ahead? Why should mobs be allowed to uproot a Constitutional government? If that precedent is set, tomorrow there could be a couple of hundred thousand that could assemble that would again bring down the next govt. Even the people of madaris could be emboldened. So desist and advise sanity. Stress change through institutions, especially through the judicial system, which is independent but agitation has been done enough, at least, for now. So advise taking a break, will you?
@pervaiz: "Most honest person in the world" now where did you get that from?
@salman: And all these people you have mentioned account for how much of the population of Pakistam?
@Youth of Pakistan: And what has he done in KPK to make us believe he is the answer or the solution to our problems?
@Maria: Very well said maria, IMRAN should go home and grow up!
In real democracy, there are impatial institutions which supervise irregularities and investigations and assist judiciry to probe into mega scandals and govt. take it as their moral obligation to public such investigations, come out clean and prove its innocence.
Unfortunately NAB is politicized so much that it cannot function independently and none of the govt. in the past took interest to liberate it because of their own wested interest.
Sadly judiciary itself has been baised and politically inclined. For MUQ attack, Gullu Butt was given bail as video evidence was not considered "substantial" while for PTV attack case, govt is digging out the profiles of the attackers from cctv footage using NADRA records
Parliament has failed to lived up to its expectations. All they have done is hooted and desk thumping. It seems that they gather around for the PMs appraisal
@DR: What you are saying is not true. Pakistan has had a most productive parliaments (in terms of legislation and even constitutional amendments passed) ever since 2008. It is Imran Khan an his failure to deliver even reasonable progress in kpk, let alone the far-fetched promises of "ending corruption in 90 days" the he made, who has proved impotent as a political leader.
@Zaki: It is precisely because we are being "reasonable, logical and Pakistani" that we support the elected government. In civilized societies, people fight tooth and nail in an election campaign and then put aside their differences to work for the betterment of the nation after elections are over - not just dwell on personality clashes. I can only laugh at people like you who cannot see beyond personalities like Imran Khan or Nawaz Sharif. Do you not see that the bigger picture is the system and allowing a democratic set up to mature in a nation that has seen military dictatorships for most of its existence. Blaming the current government which has been in power hardly a year for all of the challenges facing the country is dishonest. When Western observers rate the elections largely free and fair despite minor rigging that goes on in all 3 rd World countries, why do Imran Khan ignore them. Did BBC also make up stories of paid protesters too? Now will you see BBC journalistic integrity is below that of Pak TV?
For all those idiots who say that people can go to the front of White house, just watch what happened today when one single person (with no Dunda) climbed over the fence of the WH. He was immediately slammed to the ground and police pulled up assault weapons on him. He was arrested after that and was not allowed to go free as the pakistani military did at the PTV, even after knowing that they had destroyed property there.
IK , i too know
Unfortunately i will not be able to bring any proof. Just Like You.
IK , i am sure that rigging was done in Karachi as well , why dont you go there. Lets see how warm a welcome they give you.
Lol...After reading the comments, i believe PML-N media wing is quite proactive these days :-) btw am not with IK but definitely paid touts of PML reflect in their comments :) Loosers
One month of Dharna has exposed the corrupt mafia badly. Well done IK
ModiFied: I am.
After BBC a leading national English news paper has also exposed how the laborers of the twin cities are making easy money by attending the PAT-PIT sit-in. The laborers, private security guards, jobless and poor people and even drug addicts are being "recruited" and paid Rs. 400-500 per day on surrendering their CNIC to the office bearers of the dharnas. The cards are returned to the hired attendants after the speeches are over later in the night. And yes two times meal is also part of the deal.
All NS supporters! please do not support IK/TUQ. But please be realistic and be logical and be a Pakistani.... how can you support Sharif brothers - i can just laugh
What are you talking about? Forget about Naya Pakistan and/or PTI. Just see what is happening in the country, what our leaders are doing to common man. I am not asking to favor IK or TUQ, but you should condemn NS and this government and there are several reasons for doing so - you can just ask yourself. Just criticizing IK/TUQ because they have blocked the roads is not good. I know people are suffering but thats is what ppl are doing since long. We are born to suffer. I dont know whether my point make sense to you but atleast I am with IK/TUQ because they are against the system and everyone knows that this system is not clean at all. If you just ask these kind of questions to yourself then you might also start supporting them.... believe me @Observing The New Pakistan:
@Shahzad: We don't need revolutions or miracles what we need is common sense.
IK may be the right guy, but throwing out the baby with the bathwater is not the way to go. He needs to do what he is doing now, forget about the 3rd Umpire, use his leader of the opposition role to highlight corruption and keep himself as the alternative. If he can change public opinion around the country (not just northern punjab) there may be pressure on the PM in Parliament to look for alternative leadership (highly unlikely - PMs confidence is high, he is going to the UN GA meeting to New York). But with the huge majority PML-N has, there is little chance of an election for another 4 years. Get on with it.
@sofee: I would say most overseas Pakistanis support the government and the system - We don't support violent protesters who make a joke of the country and its image overseas. Pakistan is one of the few Muslim democracies but IK has succeeded in making Pakistan look like another unstable Arab country which we are not! People like me used to support IK but now we see how confused he is. We know that an imperfect system is better than no system. The way to improve a nation is to work within in, not scream with sticks and attack policemen or break government buildings. We know here in North America that such behavior would be dealt with firmly by police and security people. I have seen that despite differences here in the West among political groups, people don't behave hysterically like TUQ and IK. The problem with Pakistanis is that they are too emotional and want things overnight without working. It's easy to dance at a late night Dharna but it's hard to work for civil society groups that strengthen institutions.
@Shahzad: IK is always quoting America and Britan. He should know how the British and American Justice System work.
@Maria: Democracy in pakistan means giving people limited choice to select thier representatives. Period. Democracy ends there in pakistan, rest does not exists.
In the end it comes down to this -- "ye awaam faisla kar behti hai" k jo bhi ho support 'democracy', call it flawed democracy, democracy run by crooks, cheats and fake degree holders. Baat ye hai k most citizens in PK are illiterate. I can buy them with 2 'waqt ki roti'. nawaz and showbaz have already bought some youth through laptops and they're buying our poor innocent awaam (most of them live in Punjab by the way) through giving them 'bijli' through 'chori', 'roti' through Gulu Butts and this 'chor chakari' list goes on and on. The thing is as much as I supported IK I have come to realize why support his cause, the nation doesn't wana change, the nation is happy with how things are at the moment - they will come protest by blocking a few roads when loadshedding climbs up over 15 hours and then they go back when wapda reminds them 'oh bhai bill aap log dehtey nahi, hum aap se maangte nai" jao ghar jao garmi k mazay kar lo bhai, 1 maa tou bacha hai garmi chali jaye gi, winters come same drama from Sui gas. The thing is ...in a nutshell whatever you do there will be this vast majority who has been 'bought'. honest people cannot buy them or their 'brain-washed' idealogy. Accept where we are at and let's move on. Change, unfortunately I don't see in Pakistan's future as heartbreaking this is writing this but thats the sad reality. Some nations are built so that the other bigger nations can prey off of them (why is most of africa still living as if they are in dark ages) even our N-Asset is just a drama jab time ahye ga to use it, it won't work cuz bijli nai ho gi!. That's what PK unfortunately is like a worm that feeds the birds every morning a creation of the dirt that lies happily in the dirt.....As much as I am a patriotic Pakistani and I hate to say all this but that's a sad reality and the sooner we come to terms with it we can all go and do our chores ...'unchanged' from 1947!
Good luck and Pakistan Zindabad! (Hoping ET publishes this)
Saad
Your PM is coming to Parliament everyday, all the crooks are on their toes…even if IK goes without PM resignation, Pakistan is awake now, non-political people are now involved in political debates, they are asking questions, raising fingers on people who loot their hard earned money, you cant ask for over night results, there are no miracles, everything takes time, even the blood revolution takes time, this is the beginning of a new Pakistan, where people have the right to put their fists in a persons throat who plays them around. Look at the bigger picture and not the momentarily gains.
@Maria: Dear Maria. "Pakistanis want to work and debate in parliament"? What Parliment? One consisting of people who stole the election? For 14 mos PTI asked for a recount in only 4 constituencies but the government was too arrogant. In a true democracy their concerns would have got a fair hearing. I'm not a PTI troll or and Imran fan, atleast not Imran the politician. But I do believe the system in Pakistan is corrupt and sick to the core. Full marks to anyone who tries to change.
I wonder why people keep saying elected pm, elected parliamentarians, elected government, etc. when EVERYONE (including the crooks sitting in parliament, who admitted and complained about it) know that elections were massively rigged. If anyone needs proof, just watch Pakistani media (any channel except the one(s) paid and/or run by crooks in government). Therefore, there is no ELECTED pm, parliamentarians (except VERY few honest ones), government, etc. They were all forced on poor people of Pakistan to achieve their own and Pakistan's enemies agendas. Please wake up dear Pakistanis and think as a NATION!!! This chance may never be available again; at least for a very very very long time.
God forbid! Just now I heard in news that 400 policemen are being sent from Lahore to Islamabad to pounce on dharnas participants which completed one month stay and I not wish but pray that there should not be any clash between police and the agitators otherwise I am afraid human blood may spill over which must be avoided under all circumstances, aameen. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
One has nothing but sympathy for the jilted supporters who have been shorn of their once strong belies in the principles of PTI, in the intelligence of Imran Khan, in the potential of KPK government all of which have been razed to ground. PTI needs an in house change if it is to sustain itself or openly annnounce itself as the IK-League with Gen Hamid Gul as its secretary general.
@JB: thanks mate. Sometimes its hard to explain. You did it well.
don't we all know that it was a rigged election ! What system we they are talking about ..the one who's foundation was laid over those faked votes ! ..No one has the courage to go for the recount ! Why are they hiding behind the 'Stays' ? One may term Imran as utterly stupid with the way he has gone about his protest, but aren't these serious questions which needs to be answered !
@pervaiz: There is a different between supporting and attending dharna. Majority of those I mentioned support IK stance, very few have actually been to dharna, and even fewer actually stay at dharna. The initial post was about supporting, not attending dharna. Hope that clarifies.
It's just a fact that most of the people I know and speak to support IK.
Every one knows how corrupt shariffs are. Yet some people have the nerve to support these thugs, killers & thieves. It makes you wonder if they fall in the same category
Go Nawaz go! enough is enough, give someone else a chance, and step down.
Diesel,Diesel,Diesel,Diesel,Diesel Imran Khan is 100% percent right about you .You are nothing but an opportunist .
with out a doubt, Imran khan and. Tahir-ul Qadri have overwhelming support with overseas Pakistanis because these people can see the differences between corrupt system and the system that work to better life for people. once eyes are opened, no amount of geotv/ptv propaganda can reverse its course. like it or not, this is growing trend that will seriously challenge the status quo of MUK-mukoo system filled with corruption and nepotism.
You can't have an intelligent conversation on politics with pmln supporters as they always believe what their leaders say and they don't like to use their own brains. If their leaders think that IK is wasting his time then why don't they leave him alone? If he is wrong then one day people will leave him anyway. Why are they worrying about IK so much??
The PM is now regular in the parliament which wasn't important to him for the last 1.5 years. He wasn't ready to listen to the opposition nor he took IK and TUQ seriously. If IK's demands were just accusations then why the government has agreed to most of them now?? Punjab Police killed several people in model town but neither the government nor the top court of this country moved an inch unless those people took law in their own hands for justice.
Still, the priorities in the parliament are all wrong and every minister is busy in flattering the PM by accusing IK and his dog for all the problems in this country.
Patwario..Get a life..
its fight between: Election vs selection nepotism vs merit system transparency in government and to curtail corruption vs status quo. govt for the people, by the people vs govt. for few rich elites purchased by the few elites. democracy vs oligarchy. monopoly vs free market system. freedom vs state sponsor terrorism. differences have never been so stark, Hope Pakistanis will choose to be on right side of the history because opportunity may never present itself again.
@Pervaiz Very nice approach 'if he is a dacoit, leave him as a dacoit, we would prefer to live under a dacoit'. You have a problem with IK paying tax of Rs.108K. NS showed Rs.5K cash in hand in his WEALTH STATEMENT. Do you know what that means? That means basically he does not own anything! And have you even seen his income statement? Can you tell me what source of income there is? There is a difference between income tax and wealth statement. IK pays income tax on his INCOME (which comes from him being a Govt. employee). That means the tax he pays is out of his salary from being a NA member. The remaining stuff is to be submitted in a wealth statement which are only taxable when he gets revenue out of it. Tell me, when did you pay tax on your Cuore? You pay it when you buy it. You do not pay tax on your car every year do you? Please stop misleading people of part information and do your research before you start blaming others.
Never before and never after. Imran Khan has extended open invitation to all Pakistanis including his eternal foe PM Nawaz Sharif to join him to attend grand show of his festival (wrongly labeled as dharna) in D Chowk, Islamabad tomorrow on Saturday where many internationally known singers, dancers, clowns, magicians, jugglers, boxers, cricketers, footballers, wrestlers, beauticians, qawwals, painters, artists, bureaucrats and politicians, to name a few, will be in attendance. No admission fee and a chair will be provided free of cost. Special arena is earmarked for ladies but they are allowed to be in men arena as well if they wish. Complimentary busses will run from Presidency, Prime Minister House and Parliament House to the festival and back. Imran Khan himself will welcome the guests. Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / Kuwait / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
طارق ملک کو نکالنے کے بعد اب 10 سال کا عرصہ درکار ہے؟
Ik is insisting that he is the most honest person on the face of the earth but ironically nobody seem interested in his self proclaimed honesty.
@salman: According to you everyone is supporting IK, if this right then DHARNA at islamabad should have 5.00 Million people minimum and at Lahore at least 1.00 million people. Yesterday we saw crowd at Islamabd and Lahore of 1500 and 150 respectively. Please donot exaggerate figures and make nation fool
Wow !...Nawaz must be desperate.
Well said Salman. Exactly the same with me. In fact all over all people supporting IK, except few GBs.
@Shahzad: You declared Nawaz Sharif as decoit, so leave him as decoit will be always decoit and we should not waste our time for him. Instead, We should think about our so called honest leaders like Imran khan and get his income statement and paid tax which is Rs. 108,000.00 for the year 2012-13. I paid income tax Rs. 65,000.00 (deducted from salary only, Electricity / telephone bill tax is separate) for year 2012-13 which is more than half what paid Imran khan during this period. But I have a CUORE model 2006 and a house 250 Yards, but Imran khan has 300 kanals and builtproof motor car. Why this difference while he is declaring himself as the most honest person of the world.
@Akram: your PM is coming to Parliament everyday, all the crooks are on their toes...even if IK goes without PM resignation, Pakistan is awake now, non-political people are now involved in political debates, they are asking questions, raising fingers on people who loot their hard earned money, you cant ask for over night results, there are no miracles, everything takes time, even the blood revolution takes time, this is the beginning of a new Pakistan, where people have the right to put their fists in a persons throat who plays them around. Look at the bigger picture and not the momentarily gains.
@Observer: please grow up and wake up, what kind of peoples you are supporting for? those are involve in government since 1985 but do nothing for floods, electricity, education, government offices, but growing their own factories and mills and businesses in abroad.
@Alter Ego: can you prove Altaf bhai has murdered people or ordered to do so? according to your logic, he also isn't a murderer??
@pervaiz: Where did you get your facts from? if they are authentic, get the facts about Nawaz also and share here.
Grand celebrations of a failed million march? Let us realistically recap and analyze what the IQ duo has achieved so far out of this exercise. The much talked about million tsunami march was a total failure as the number of marchers was surprisingly very low and it never exceeded few thousands mark. Then came the invasion of the red zone putting at risk the lives of their own workers and the security of the national nerve center. This invasion of the red zone sent shock waves across Pakistan and to the capitals of the world as it exposed our security agencies vulnerability. Next was the demand of resignation of the Prime Minister and dissolution of the assemblies followed by calls of nationwide civil disobedience. These demands discredited the present government legitimacy on national and international levels. Then he thought of crippling Pakistan financially and appealed to the overseas Pakistanis to stop sending remittances through legal means and withdraw their money from the national banks. This infantile behavior has discouraged foreign investors from coming to Pakistan. Then coincidentally the duo had a “mysterious brain wave” at the same time and without any warning stormed the parliament house, Prime Minister House and PTV Headquarters. They also attacked the policemen protecting the secretariat blocks that resulted into death of three innocent people with many other seriously injured. The next blow was the cancellation of the Chinese President crucial visit to Pakistan and now finally the world community has shown its great concern about the security of Pakistan Nuclear assets. So what they have achieved out of this march and sit-in that they must celebrate. Its nothing but to cover their failures and negativism. Now PTI stand divided and fractured as the PTI President exposed the design behind the march and sit-in. The MP’s from PTI have refused to tender resignation and IK seems helpless in front of them while he is still demanding resignation from the Prime Minister of Pakistan. I am not sure if they wanted to prove that Pakistan is a failed state but if it was their objective they have achieved it.
@Shahzad: Imran paid tax for 2012-13 as Rs. 108,000.00 showing his income total 2.00 million. Now can you explain how he is managing 300 kanal home at bani ghala and 6 kanal at zaman park where only electricity bill is Rs. 100,000.00 per month. He is driving builtproof motorcars worth of 6.00 millions........... so please answer for this and get answer from Musharraf who investigated Nawaz Sharif for 8 years for wealth of Nawaz family in Pakistan and abroad.
Fortunately or Unfortunately the burden of proof lies with the accuser. You IK have none . If you have some proof then show it to the media . i am still waiting for the proof for
@ModiFied: I am supporting it.
I observe global politics and was hoping to see some media coverage of Imran Khan's fiasco in Islamabad. Absolutely no coverage in Australia and or any other international press. Nothing!
Someone should tell him to roll up his sleeves and try and do some work for a change. This sit-in debacle is not doing him or the country any favours.
Learn to work, learn to work hard.
Old Pakistan looks much more decent and civilized when I see the so called educated leaders and supporters of Naya Pakistsn !
@Maria: how did Nawaz manage to buy property abroad? just investigate and everything will come out. he paid Rs. 5000 tax and I used to pay Rs. 3000 tax. I should also have villas in UK if that is the case.
@ModiFied: how can you vouch for others in the whole world? broaden your vision and you might see, that these jackals needs to removed
i believe on what all you said, but just once think if elected PM is not good and if IM is supported US sanctions... its mean there is no one who can make Pakistan wealthy and idol country... we all support only one thing that we want a country where we and our childern grow in peace and with good future... and i think with a team of Shahbaz sharif and IM may be with or without PM Nawaz Sharif can make changes in pakistan... IM is very well educated so he should adopt educated way like discuss think in media and in parliment... stop attacking on charactors and start discuss policies of PML (N) and PTI that which one is better for the country... and also make there team not with old politicians but with new talents like he starts before 18 years... if need changes then please forget currupt politicians and yes PM Nawaz also need to be look into their policies and faimly politics... he is a good business man so he should look into country industries and make dames... one thing very clear no one is perfect and have to be a just true pakistani....
With one million IDP'S and floods devastating the country shame on Imran and Qadri who still are at dharna. Both of them are not sincere to the this county and its people. If the had been sincere then they should have called off the dharna and starting help the IDP's and the flood effected people.
I don't like politics and really don't involve in any political activity but I pray that May Allah Help Those who are sincere with my beloved country Pakistan.
Imran Khan is indeed a sincere man. So he is the only hope for true democracy & progressive Pakistan... will success Inshallah. I request all Pakistani please listen and understand IK's speeches, his pain for people of Pakistan. He wants to become us Pakistanis a NATION, that's an important. People who are the beneficiaries of this current system (status quo) are continually misguiding innocent people .. reject them and please keep supporting IK/PTI.
You may disagree with Imran Khan's approach but noone can deny or object to what he demands for this nation. The Times Magazine once stated that had Imran Khan been a European atleast half of Europe's news editors would have voted for him. Pakistanis are lucky to have him, we owe him huge respect.
If only if resignation of PM would help our problems at macro level then PM should resign if the answer is no. then it does not make any sense to challenge an elected Prime Minister.. who ever is he... though i am strongly oppose the feudalistic culture of our country.. but this is not the solution that start sit-in in front of elected parliament...this is like to make fun of others democratic rights.....no developed country would allow this.... moreover reservation over electrol process may not be the based for resignation....there is a process for everyone if has reservation....though process is very long and lengthy but has to be followed....further Imran Khan is an elected member of the parliament...he is getting paid from parliament and he never returned his benefits.....he should raised every issue over there......and he get his reservations resolved over there too..
@Humza: Actually what you should say is that "unless an elected government respects its citizens and treats them as equals, regardless of their religion or status within the country, this country will never develop."
People will always blame the army for our problems, the problem is actually "elected politicians" who never deliver or learn from their mistakes.
@Youth of Pakistan: Why not go and try to score political points on a natural disaster in KPK while you are at it? We all know that Punjab is the best governed and managed province in Pakistan due to the measures of Shahbaz Sharif who takes a personal interest in the uplift of the province. The current federal government has been in power hardly a year and it seems that those greedy for power by any means will stoop to anything to justify mob rule and violent protests. A few thousand protesters can never deny the majority their voting rights. Until Pakistanis learn to respect the mandate of an elected government, the nation will never develop. Naya Pakistan with tired old political leaders around Imran Khan like Shaikh Rasheed and playing old style mob rule politics with foul language makes Purana Pakistan sound much better and civilized ! Shame on Imran Khan and Tahirul Qadri's followers for trying to take advantage of a flood situation.
So what if Nawaz Sharif is corrupt, all we care about is that we got free laptops and motorway and metro bus, underpasses and flyover bridges (most of which were already pre-planned) . These developments are the essential need of the country drowning in floods and you are jealous that our Ganjas have achieved so much and all you could manage is a World cup and a hospital with free medical for poor and a university to increase access to education.....how does that help people??????more projects with ithehad steel pls
I belive in PTI & its Idealogy since 2002-04 & supporting them till date. The best thing, is they are not convetioanl politicians with vested interetests. I support CHANGE & I support PTI all the way from Abu Dhabi. We may lose hope, but our leader will not. Belive in him & support him!
@Youth of Pakistan: Well said brother
Imran Khan Zindabad
Shame on those who have made Bridges and Roads the standard of Development of a country
Go and see the situation in Lyyah, Jhang, Bhakar, Pindi Bhattian, Hafizabad, Chiniot,Gujrat, Sailkot you name it. PMLN has rulled in punjab since 1985 every time the flood comes they wear long boots stand in water, kiss some god forsaken poor children, have a good quality photo shoot and then go back to there palaces.
And wait for some more years and do the same routine next time again.
This time Khan is here friends, get ready to face a real opposition, muk muka politics is over and buried.
Your highness Mr. PM sb, get ready to face us.
Thank you Imran for waking us up
@Observing The New Pakistan: the shallow people are those who did nothing for present Pakistan except look after the most powerful at the expense of the poor...Look t the state of Pakistan and am sick and tired of hearing the same old excuses of blaming the Army or previous government....the rulers have bought the country to its present position because they cannot take the hard decisions of bringing the powerful to account.
@Zaida Parvez: Dropping names is proof as before parties would make indirect accusations without offering the names...would never pass a certain point...the peoples eyes are now opened with who has done what
@ModiFied: I am supporting this movement so you are wrong there...let's stick to the facts and you justify why we should keep the Status Quo based on where it has taken Pakistan
@Maria: All they do in Parliament is debate and pass the time...Clock in and out..Pakistan is in the state it is because of the Status Quo and a change is needed which will not be given by present rulers
Imran should read Kerry-Lugar Bill again. Thanks to these provisions, the Army will never think of getting to power, nor will think of removing an elected PM.
If somehow Imran comes to power, he will have to govern the country with US sanctions. The country will get to see civil war then .
@Maria: That's all PMLN goons are good at, fighting politics with family life, personal issues e.t.c. PMLN is a party that keeps on looting the public yet the same people keep electing them. I really wonder what the IQ level is in Pakistan.
We are with you all the way Imran.
Soon it will be one year. IK is only fit for dharnas and making charges without proof. Dropping names is not proof.
And of course IK has all the paperwork to prove his allegations! NOT!
The leaders of new Pakistan are characters from Maula Jutt who can't stop finger-combing their hair and wear scarfs in their necks and mesmerize shallow characters in the media and sadly the so called educated middle class . If that's the new Pakistan , then that won't be for long , as shallow characters cannot actually cope with the real problems of living in the 21st century , they can only use the tools of the 21st century to promote their own ego .
One month of blackmail which is turning out to be his black facing. No body anywhere in the world is supporting this so called movement.
Making claims about millions without any evidence is low by any standards. It's time for Nawaz to start talking about Jemima and his kids in London or abour Tahirul Qadri's kids living with him on welfare in Canada. It seems that Imran Khan is willing to say or do anything to breath life into his failed Putsch. The sooner he realises that he is going nowhere with this time wasting protest the better. Pakistanis want people to work and debate in parliament - not atop containers! Go home Imran Khan and grow up.
