@Iqbal Hadi Zaidi: "Who is safe is my very innocent question?"
And a very innocent answer: Bureaucrats, their children and families; especially those who have been able to retire comfortably in the West with their meager salries and paltry pensions. Plus our generals; of course!
The clergies on both sides are fighting a war Between saudi Arabia and Iran for long time now in Pakistan. The fire which they ignited is burning them now.It is high time to stop dancing on the tune of these countries and start spreading peace,respect and love for each other just being a fellow human being.
@Sami:
"A sad incident. Our clergy should understand that centuries old religious conflicts cannot be resolved but can be avoided through accepting peaceful co-existence."
Excellent comment. Very practical, or probably the only practical solution. Over time, with peaceful coexistence, conflicts would get removed by itself.
May Allah grant the family sabr and grant him the highest stage in Jannat. What is happening in Pakistan is very sad Killing innocent Ulemas is rife in Pakistan. This is the sign of Qiyamat
Sad for loss of life, unfortunately the criminals will never be caught thanks to our overall incompetent and corrupt system. Nothing Islamic left in Islamic Republic...
Very sad situation now, I wish sense prevails among all of us

Pakistan, the land of pure. After reading the latest news of today Wednesday 10th September, 2014 that Maulana Massod Baig, a sunni cleric and lecturer is gunned down in Karachi I can pen with full confidence and conviction that in my beloved Pakistan Sikh + Hindu + Christian + Shia + Sunni have been killed from time to time and despite inquiries and investigations, most of the killers could not be apprehended. Who is safe is my very innocent question? Iqbal Hadi Zaidi / Former Diplomat / zaidiformerdiplomat@hotmail.com
